Check-out in the early morning from Algiers. Arrival an hour and a half later in Cherchell. Visit of the ancient city on the Mediterranean coast called Yol and then Caesarea of Mauretania, it was one of the most important cities of the coast of North Africa and capital of Mauretania Caesarea. Lunch of grilled fish (local speciality).
Ruines Romaines Tipaza
Tipasa presents a separate ruin: not everything has been cleared, and a large part of the city, explored by Stéphane Gsell in 1891, is still under sediment. In its current state, the remains form two large collections. The first is located outside the walls, at the current entrance to the city, on the right side of the road coming from Algiers, corresponding to a large necropolis and the Sainte-Salsa cathedral. The second is the archaeological park, located at the western exit of the modern city, which includes most of the monuments unearthed.

5.00Frankly, if you’re going to Algeria, you should definitely visit the Roman ruins of Tipaza, it’s an amazing place where you really feel like you’re going back in time. You walk between the basilicas, villas and thermal baths, everything is still well preserved and you can easily imagine life in Roman times, especially with the sea right next door that makes the landscape beautiful. The contrast between the old stones and the blue of the Mediterranean is super soothing, and as the site is quite large, you can visit quietly without being disturbed, take photos and enjoy the moment. Honestly, it’s not just a historical site, it’s a real experience to live.

5.00Honestly, Tipaza is a really special place. When you walk between the Roman ruins, you really feel the history of the place. The ancient stones, the columns, everything reminds you of Roman times. And what makes the place even more beautiful is the Mediterranean Sea right next door, the view is really amazing and very quiet. Frankly, it was a very nice discovery, and with Riwaya Travel everything was well organized, it’s really a very good agency.

5.00Frankly, Tipaza is a really beautiful place. Walking between the Roman ruins gives the impression of travelling back in time, one can easily imagine how the city was once. What I liked most is the view of the Mediterranean Sea right next to the ruins, it is really quiet and very beautiful. It was a very nice experience, and with Riwaya Travel everything was well organized, it is really a very good agency.

5.00The Roman ruins of Tipaza are truly impressive and full of history. The site is beautiful, especially with the sea view which makes the visit even more enjoyable. After the visit we had a very good lunch with a delicious fish dish facing the sea and a wonderful view of the Mediterranean. Everything was very well organized thanks to Riwaya Travel, with a professional and pleasant service. A very nice experience that I recommend to all those who visit the area.

5.00Very nice discovery of the Roman ruins of Tipaza, an impressive historical site with a magnificent view of the sea.The visit was pleasant and very interesting to understand the history of the place. We then had lunch in a restaurant facing the sea with an excellent fish dish, in a very relaxing atmosphere. Thanks to Riwaya Travel for the organization and professionalism. An experience I highly recommend.

5.00We had scheduled the tour for 8am but our plane was cancelled due to bad weather in Paris so we missed the hotel night and the next flight to Algeria, we talked to the Algerian tour company to see if you could do the tour later to reach and not lose it and were very kind to modify our booking, we had also not eaten anything and even with the delay they gave us the time to take us to eat something typical, Ahmed our guide explained in detail the whole story of Tipaza, the day was very rainy and even lent us a raincoat for my husband, the weather reached us very well to fulfill the itinerary......

5.00I had a great trip with my guide Raouf to Tipaza. We had a nice lunch in one of the fish restaurants that line the road in the town centre and then to the Roman ruins (with another local guide arranged by Raouf and included in the price). My flight was cancelled and i was able to contact Raouf and the Raya team in advance. They were flexible and helpful. Good English spoken. Overall, great experience.

5.00I spent a wonderful day with Myra and Racha visiting Cherchell, the Tipaza Roman Ruins, and the Royal Mausoleum of Mauretania. It was a perfect day trip from Algiers.
