• Epic Salar de Uyuni tour with Julia of Joker Expeditions

  We booked a private tour of Salar de Uyuni on Christmas Day 2025 with Joker Expedition. Our guide Julia and driver Samuel picked us up at our hotel promptly at 10:30am. The vehicle was a very comfortable, clean and roomy Toyota LandCruiser 4x4. First stop was at the cemetery of trains. Julia guided us around the site, explaining the history and took expert photos of us. Next stop was the salt processing plant, where Julia explained to us the process of making salt suitable for consumption. There was also an artisanal market where we were able to buy some real Bolivian salt and souvenirs. Next stop was at Dakar, which had a hotel made completely of salt and a monument full of international flags. Next came a lunch break, where our hosts set up a umbrella and table right in the middle of the surreal salt flat and served us a gourmet lunch, complete with delicious chicken milanesa, fried llama, quinoa salad, steamed veggies, and even strawberry cheesecake for dessert. After lunch, Julia, who is an expert at photography, took some fun "perceptive" photos of us with some props. I have included some in my photos below. The next stop was at Isla Incahuasi, which is a large rocky hill covered with cacti. Julia guided us on a 45 minute hike across the island, explaining the history, flora and fauna, through a little cave/cavern, and finally back to the car. Next, our guides drove us to a spot where I was able to fly my drone and capture some epic overhead shots of the Salar. Finally, our guides took us to the perfect place to have a snack/tea and watch the sunset at the area where there are usually great reflections on the water. Unfortunately, the day we went, it was mostly overcast, so there was no sunset, and it was also windy, so the water surface was too rough to capture good reflections We still took a few cool photos, and this circumstance was by no means the fault of Joker Expeditions or our guides. Finally, they dropped us off safely back to our hotel. Overall, it was a fun filled day of incredible sights and memories. But what really makes it special were our guides Julia and Samuel. They made every effort to ensure that our tour was informative and we were safe and comfortable at all times. 10/10 stars for Julia and Samuel. Without equivocation, I highly recommend Joker Expeditions to anyone in search of a comprehensive and comfortable private tour of Salar de Uyuni in the enchanting kingdom of Bolivia. • Once in a lifetime experience

  Awesome guide. Julia was very knowledgeable and personable. She gave us an unforgettable experience that we will always treasure. The tour overall was incredible. We covered a lot of ground. Our pictures are amazing. The lunch was delicious and the setting was once in a lifetime. Highly recommend this!

  Excellent 8-hour private tour to Salar de Uyuni. The driver, Christian, not only very professional as a guide and driver, but very friendly. The experience of having lunch in the middle of the salt flat was sensational and then witnessing the sunset with a glass of wine. All on time and very well organized. The unique landscapes and experience. Recommended

• Incredibly Special - Perfect Tour For Couples

  Prior to booking this tour I saw a lot of negative reviews about the cost/value for money, which made me a little apprehensive to proceed. From start to finish it was absolutely flawless! They were waiting for us at the airport and then took us to have a buffet breakfast before starting the tour at there hotel in a lovely Lexus Jeep. We then started our tour after breakfast and no words, sentences or paragraphs can describe how incredibly special the salt flats are! Lucy & Daniel really went that extra mile to make our experience so memorable. If you want a more personalised, private experience with your partner, this is the tour for you. The private lunch in the middle of the salt flats, and the evening snacks/nibbles with wine at sunset was unforgettable. You don’t get this on the other group tours. They even paid for our taxi to the offices of our overnight bus company at the end of the tour. £150 per person was great value for money! Couples out there, do not hesitate to book this tour. You won’t be disappointed!

  Julia was an excellent guide. She explained everything in a very knowledgeable manners. Daniel the driver, drove very safely. Both set up a wonderful lunch and dinner. I can only highly recommend this trip.

  This is an absolutely fantastic trip, from start to finish breath taking scenery, a magical experience to see nature in this way. But …. what makes it’s a memory we will never forget are the photo skills of Liroy, he’s self taught himself the different settings on iPhones and androids cameras, coupled with knowing the best settings and poses, the pictures he took for us will bring back to life the memories of our trip forever.   It was the most incredible day ever, like being taken to another world entirely. Had the best tour guide, Mauricio and driver Luis. So knowledgeable and explained so much to us. My son and I had the best time ever!! A MUST DO in Bolivia!

  A fantastic experience of Uyuni Salt Flats. Nadia, our guide, was wonderful and she looked after us very well giving us lots of information and taking lots of photos for us. Our driver was also brilliant and we felt completely safe in his driving and navigational skills out on the salt flats. Nothing was too much for either of them and they made sure we were able to stay out later in the salt flats to watch sunset and see the stars. Food and water provided all day long and was lovely. An absolutely brilliant experience!
