Before we go into DMZ area and do ID Check, will look through 3 stops - Brdige of freedom, Mangbaedan Altar, Steam locomotive destroyed during Korean war in Imjingak Park. Imjingak was built in 1972 for the benefit of displaced North Koreans. It is at the end of National Road No. 1, which civilians can access.
Mangbaedan is an altar where North Korean refugees in the South hold ancestral rites on the two biggest national holidays to their parents and grandparents left behind in the North.

5.00Marie was our amazing tour guide! She was friendly, had incredible energy, and a wonderful storyteller. To top it off, she was super efficient! This was so important because she was able to get us to see the top sights with minimal wait times/queues and avoiding the crowds - the DMZ is super crowded and loud - so having a tour guide that knew how to order the different parts of the trip is important so that you can get the most out of the tour while feeling rushed when visiting the sights. Hearing stories from the North Korean defector was incredibly sad and a unique opportunity, not to be missed. Lastly, we were lucky to be on the tour on a clear day, so Marie recommended that we visit Odusan observatory. It was quite memorable and we were so glad to have gone with her recommendation!

5.00We were fortunate enough to have Tiger as our tour guide. He was absolutely amazing! He spoke great English and used to be in the military so he had interesting stories to tell. We learned so much information - it was better than we imagined!

5.00We had a private tour with Lucky and it was great. She was patient, knowledgeable, and we loved that she kept things quick (we don't like to linger). The suspension bridge was really cool with great mountain views. The DMZ and 3rd tunnel was unforgettable--also being able to skip ahead and navigate past the larger groups was well worth it. Our guide took so many great pictures of us that we'll be able to keep forever. The tour picked us up at our hotel and dropped us off so we could do some shopping. Perfect day!

5.00Lucky was an absolutely wonderful guide for our DMZ Tour. She arrived earlier at our hotel and kindly waited while we finished breakfast, which we truly appreciated. She even thoughtfully prepared snacks for me and my son to enjoy on the go, which was such a lovely gesture. She was knowledgeable and explained everything clearly, making the tour both engaging and easy to understand. We felt well taken care of throughout the entire trip and returned safely to the hotel. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend Lucky to anyone visiting the DMZ.
