Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park
The acronym “DMZ” means Demilitarized Zone. As its name suggests, it is a buffer zone between North and South Korea where no military personnel, installations or activities are allowed. It is also often regarded as a stretch of no man’s land and is roughly 4 KM wide. Its purpose is to preserve the peace between both sides and avoid military confrontations. The only exception to this rule is the Joint Security Area (JSA), where troops from both sides secure an area for peaceful talks and negotiation between the leaders. The best way to think of the DMZ is as a neutral ground where the North and South can communicate.

The DMZ is a MUST DO for anyone visiting South Korea. Our guide Ray was incredibly knowledgable and funny! I would recommend anyone to request him as a guide!

5.00An amazing real tour! Diane and Tom are super attentive. Diane is super knowledgeable about every historical detail and makes this tour of the DMZ very enjoyable and interesting. In addition to everything, Diane is always attentive to taking the best photos in the most amazing spots of the trip.

5.00I was on Summer holiday with my family (my wife and twins-a boy and a girl both 11 years old) in Seoul. We booked a private tour to the DMZ throught Viator Alice of VIP Tour was our guide and Andy was our driver. Alice was an excellent guide. She was very knowledgeable and told us many stories about Seoul and the DMZ. My kids love her too and we highly recommend her to other travelers. Andy drove very well and got us to all of the sight seeing spots right on time. Thank you Alice and Andy for looking after us!
