Travel from San Juan in an air-conditioned vehicle and explore El Yunque’s lush trails with your certified guide. Learn about the rainforest’s history, culture, and wildlife as you make your way to the river. Enjoy natural waterslides, rope swings, and crystal-clear pools with high-quality helmets and life jackets included.
Unlike other El Yunque tours that can last 7+ hours due to crowds and long waits, our strategically timed 5-hour experience avoids delays. In the afternoon tour, you may see other groups, but never long lines or chaotic bottlenecks.

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
IMPORTANT: Our activity is designed for people between (10 and 60 years old) with good physical condition. You have to be able to walk by your own in uneven surfaces. For safety reasons, people who are overweight, have previous injuries, are pregnant, or have health problems are not allowed to participate. Evidence of age via license or birth certificate will be required to ensure compliance with these requirements. Furthermore, no exceptions or refunds will be made to those who fail to comply with these conditions.
Participants must be physically capable of walking thru steep, rocky, muddy and uneven surfaces without assistance.
This tour operates based weather and river conditions. In the event of poor weather, you will be offered an option to reschedule or refund.
Use of lifejacket and helmet is mandatory.
On Saturdays the hike is around 15 minutes longer since we depart from a different point.
Tours Hacker reserves the right of admission - If a person appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, not following instructions, causing disruptions, or providing false information, such as lying about their age, the guide has the right to cancel their reservation at any moment. In such cases, no refunds will be issued. We prioritize the safety and enjoyment of all participants and expect honesty in all aspects of the booking process.
Persons with the previously listed health restrictions cannot participate on the tour. No refunds will be authorized if a person neglects to read complete description and does not meet the safety requirements and limitations on the day of the tour.
Minimum of 4 people required per reservation
Personal Belongings Policy for the Rainforest Excursion: At our Rainforest Excursion, the safety and experience of our guests are our top priorities. Due to the nature of the activity—which involves hiking, water contact, and constant movement in a natural environment—we strongly recommend that participants do not bring any personal belongings unless absolutely necessary. While we do allow the use of prescription glasses for those who need them for vision, all other personal items should be left in a secure location before the excursion.
Liability Waiver: Our company is NOT responsible for the loss, damage, or misplacement of any personal belongings during the excursion. We understand that the nature of the tour involves activities that may increase the risk of losing items, such as walking on uneven terrain, swimming in the river, sliding on rocks, and jumping into the water. If a participant chooses to bring personal items, they do so at their own risk. We will not be able to stop the excursion to search for lost items in the forest or river. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring that everyone enjoys a worry-free experience.

To begin our amazing adventure our guide will pick you up at your preferred hotel, resort, residence or airbnb in San Juan, Isla Verde and Condado (Although hotels in Rio Grande or Fajardo may not qualify, we can arrange a convenient meeting point near your accommodation for your ease and comfort). The schedule will be from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm or from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Both schedules have been strategically chosen to beat the crowds created by the large groups of other companies to make it more comfortable and safer for you.
El Yunque Hiking Area
Upon arrival, our certified tour guide will lead you through this amazing secret spot of "El Yunque". In this area you will explore through the mud trails and lush green of the rainforest. The hike will take approximately 1.5 miles in total and will take approximately twenty minutes to reach the first bathing area and another fifteen minutes hiking on rocks to get to the water slide. We’ll spend around 2 hours inside the rainforest where we’ll be swimming, swinging from the rope like Tarzan, sliding down a natural waterslide, cooling off under the waterfall and jumping from different cliffs.

5.00We had a blast on our tour! It was raining really hard, but it is a rainforest…. We didn’t get to do the rock slide as the water was to rough and rising, but still got to do the cliff jumping and rope swing. Safety was clearly a priority. Eli was amazing, knowledgeable, and funny! We loved it!

5.00We had a fantastic experience on our private rain forest tour! Eli was amazing and very knowledgeable of the area, vegetation, and terrain. Our two children thrived and loved the “rock slide”, rope swing, and jumping rock. We also got amazing photos and videos taken by Eli, our guide. I would highly recommend this tour!! It was a core memory and a highlight of our trip!

5.00Michael is the best. He only does small groups, but my wife and I paid for four so we had a private tour. He knows when to go when it’s not too busy. I saw some pictures for other excursions doing the same thing with lots of people and lines. Michael also stopped to show us things along the hike. We saw birds, ferns, and large snails. He’s everything you hope for in a guide. Best excursion we’ve done so far in San Juan

5.00We had the most amazing hiking adventure with Michael from Tours Hacker! From start to finish, he was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly accommodating — especially with me, as I struggled a bit with coordination on the trails. He never made me feel rushed and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. Michael guided us through the rainforest, pointing out incredible wildlife and fascinating plant life. He took us to beautiful swimming holes, stunning waterfalls, and even a bit of rock climbing for those feeling adventurous. Every stop was picture-perfect and full of natural beauty. His calm and encouraging presence made the experience even more enjoyable. 5.00We had a great time on our private tour in El Yunque! Our guide picked us up from our hotel and drove us into the rainforest. We did a short hike and then spent most of the time in a beautiful swimming hole - we did the rope swing, climbed up the rocks, and played under the waterfall. We felt very safe the entire time. Our guide was knowledgeable about the wildlife and plants around us. He pushed us to step outside of our comfort zones! He also took photos throughout our time together and shared them with us right away. Would recommend!

5.00I typically pass on writing reviews but I had to this time! My husband and I are in Puerto Rico for our 31st anniversary and booked multiple tours. This is our 3rd and by far the best. Michael our guide was perfect for our group of 6. He was exceptional at teaching us about the flora and fauna of the rainforest. He lead us by way of the safest path on the walking/climbing portion of the hike. He discouraged bringing our own cameras for obvious reasons but took plenty of pictures both at our request and at sites he knows are memorable to get a photo. He encouraged us to participate in all the activities (ie natural water slide) but did not pressure us to. Again, can not say enough about this tour and Michael as a guide

5.00This rainforest tour is a must! Michael was a fantastic tour guide - we climbed, jumped and saw the beauty of El Yunque. This tour is for those looking for a safe but thrill-seeking adventure! We also had lunch with the best tacos and mojitos in Puerto Rico - could not recommend Michael and this tour more!!

5.00I went on this rainforest excursion in Puerto Rico during my solo trip, and it was absolutely amazing! Michael made everything well-planned, fun, and safe, while still packing the adventure with lots of adrenaline. I felt comfortable the entire time, even while pushing my limits with the activities. It was the perfect mix of excitement and nature. Definitely recommend this experience to everyone visiting Puerto Rico!
