After greeting our team at the port, you will begin your journey with a comfortable 1-hour drive to Ephesus. Along the way, your guide will share valuable insights about Turkey, the region, and what to expect during your tour.
Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House)
The House of the Virgin Mary (or Meryem Ana Evi in Turkish) is a place where, according to the beliefs of many people Mary, the mother of Jesus, spent the last years of her life. She was supposed to arrive at Ephesus together with St. John and lived there in the years 37-45 CE until her Assumption (according to Catholic doctrine) or Dormition (according to Orthodox belief). Currently, the restored house serves as a chapel. Typically, the chapel is crowded by huge numbers of tourists who visit Meryemana while on their way to or from Ephesus. The place is under the care of the Franciscan order. The House of the Virgin Mary also has enormous significance for the Muslims, for whom Mary was the mother of one of the great prophets of Islam, called İsa Peygamber (i.e. Jesus).

5.00Wow, this tour was nothing else but amazing. And, let’s talk about our tour guide Fatima - very nice and kind, patient, and most of all, very knowledgeable with the history of Ephesus and the house of Virgin Mary’s site. She really took the time to explain all the need and important information needed to know and be familiar with. Also, the time she took to get us in places like outlet for the leather products and also the rug factory where they are hand made was phenomenal. I would recommend her as a tour guide. Thank you!

5.00What a great experience with Ilene and her driver. We were greeted at the gate bright and early so we could get a quick start to our tour. Ilene was so knowledgeable and articulate! She explained in detail every aspect of our tour and answered every question thoroughly. Her personality was delightful and she was very approachable and friendly. We would highly recommend her for an excellent travel experience!
