Basilica of St. John
According to the Catholic Christian Society, John and Marry definitely lived in Ephesus and one of his tasks was to take care of Mother Mary. He was also spreading Christianity in Ephesus, in the reign of Domitian, John was exiled to the island of Patmos as a prisoner. When he regained his freedom, He returned to Ephesus and spent his remaining years in the Basilica. He was the only disciple of Jesus not to have been killed or executed by the Romans who were pagan, who worshipped the Greek gods and goddesses of Olympus.
Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House)
The House of Mother Mary is located at the top of the Bulbul mountain and it’s only 6 km away from the Ancient City of Ephesus. It is believed that The Mother Mary spent her last years in this shrine. According to Catholic Christianity, After the Crucifixion of Jesus, Mother Mary was brought from Jerusalem to Ephesus by St. John the apostle to live. The foundation of the house is based on Anna Catherine Emmerich’s visions and was founded in 1891. When they found the house, was already collapsed by the earthquake. After The House of Virgin Mary was re-built as a church and has been visited by Pope Paul VI in 1967 and Pope John Paul II in 1979, has been registered as a place of pilgrimage.

5.00With only one day to make the most of our cruise stop in Kusadasi, Turkey we are grateful to have found Takk Travel thru Viator, and to have Koray as our guide. Koray was fun and helped us understand the history and significance of Ephesus, Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House), The Basilica of Saint John, and my favorite The Temple of Artemis. He shared details that we would have missed had we been on our own, and was able to address so many questions. Our lunch was a backyard retreat at a carpet farm which was exceptionally delightful & delicious. And we had a private modeling of the finest leather jackets that was an eye popping, eye candy experience. Koray made sure we had the most enjoyable adventure together, and we'd not hesitate to utilize his service and company again in the future for extended trips overseas.

5.00Amazing places visited esp. service from Takk travel. Well planed is a must to avoid too much time on transportation. But still recommended.
Group of business friends made a trip for a week from Istanbul to cappadocia and circled back via the west side back to the city

5.00While booking, we had concerns. But, in the first few minutes, we met with our guide Mr. Koray, and we felt that we did the correct choice. We had excellent discussions about Turkey, the past, and today. Tour was as advertised by TAKK Travel. We really enjoyed the real local lunch a lot. It was a complete day tour with its historical visits, transportation, guide, artisan’s ateliers, and meals. Thanks to Takk Travel, highly recommended.
