After driving about an hour and a half (times depends on your hotel location). During this first stage, I will talk to you about the succession of events which led France to be occupied by the Nazis in 1940. We will then talk about the planning and preparation operations for the landing of June 6, 1944 and finally discuss the exploits of the 225 men of Colonel Rudder's second ranger battalion.
Omaha Beach
We will stop in the heart of Omaha Beach in Saint-Laurent sur mer, where you can take some photos and I will suggest some restaurants so you can have a quick lunch before heading to our next stop.

5.00Gilles is a very knowledgeable and professional tour guide, that we highly recommend for tours of the Le Havre and Normandy area. His knowledge of the World Wars is outstanding, and he shared information in a very easily understood way. Our party of six was unanimous in our appreciation for a tour well done. His English was excellent, his car was first class, and he was onetime and delivered the tour just as promised. We've enjoyed several excellent private tours but this tour was by far one of the best.

5.00I booked this tour long ago and was looking forward to it with great anticipation. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Giles and Marcus were wonderful and even brought buttery croissants along. I learned more history in one day than I did all throughout high school. Thank you for a great day.

5.00Gilles and his team were absolutely amazing!!!! We had 8 people total and two very comfortable, clean, well stocked cars (food and beverages), that made our trip from the cruise port to Normandy very relaxing. Along the way, Gilles told us about the history leading up to the Normandy invasion which was so very informative, even as a HS History teacher myself! The other car was able to hear all the info as well due to his communication set up…it was wonderful!!! We stopped at the Point du Hoc first and received his guided tour along the way! After that, he arranged lunch for our group that was super delicious! Next stop was Omaha Beach, then the cemetery, the Mulberry Harbors and the Atlantic Wall, finishing off with the gun emplacements!!!! It was absolutely an amazing day!!!! I can’t tell you how highly I recommend this tour!!!! All 8 people in our group agreed that this was their favorite tour on our 2 week British Isle cruise!!!

5.00Gilles is amazing. What a great person! Our train trip to Caen had an unexpected incident on the track which caused us to have to go back to LeHavre. He drove there and picked us up. He brought croissant for the whole family. He had a smile on his face and truly enjoyed the day with us. Very accommodating, very friendly. I would not tour with anyone else after this! Trusted with my whole family including a 10 year old and he did not disappoint! Cannot say enough nice things about the tour and how informative and fun it was. I got to go inside a German Gun emplacement and stand on the actual beach where it happened and look toward the shore. Bucket list items get checked off here. Life changing! Merci Gilles!

5.00Our guide was Gilles and he was phenomenal! A very intelligent, friendly and caring person. He provided us with so much historical facts and information during our entire excursion. If you are wanting to go to the Normandy Beaches and get details facts on what actually took place there he is the guide you need! I cannot say enough good things or recommended him enough. Thank you Gilles for such an interesting and throughly enjoyable day.🥰🥰

5.00This private tour was spectacular, Gilles was very knowledgeable and eager to share history and anecdotes of the landing circumstances and events. He was very accommodating to your needs and desires and at the end of the your we had not only visited the historic sites but had enriched or knowledge, gained respect and honored the braves that have their lives for liberty. We were a group of friends staying in different hotels and Gilles could arrange to pick us up in each of our locations. During the your he had excellent recommendations for a lunch stop at a historic site.
