• Great Guide but Lousy Vehicles

  Mixed experience. First, the guide, Juan Arce, woke us up early in the morning stating he was there for our tour. Problem was, he was a day early. He apologized and we were ready to go as scheduled the following morning. He was 15 minutes late. The van looked awful. Dirty outside and dirty inside, with an inoperative passenger side sliding door and a major crack on the driver’s side front windshield. Then he stopped to fill up with gas and buy himself a coffee. Should have been done prior to picking us up. The vehicle struggled to make it up each hill, but he assured us everything was ok. Tour itself was great. Juan was helpful and knowledgeable, and we enjoyed our visit to Valparaiso and Vino Del Mar. On the drive home, the vehicle conked out in the middle of the highway. Juan pulled over to the side and spent about an hour on the phone calling other guides for help and attempting to diagnose the problem. He and his guide friends decided it was the battery, and spliced 4 sets of jumper cables together. That didn’t work. Then he tried to convince my wife and I to each get into separate cars to go back to the hotel. In no way would I entrust my wife to drive off alone with a stranger in my own country, let alone a foreign one. Eventually things were arranged for us to travel in the same vehicle back to the hotel. Juan stayed behind and we don’t know what happened with the vehicle. Was a scary experience

  A beautiful excursion, the friendly guide Alejandro, explained everything in detail, answered all the doubts we had and made this a very fun experience. It's a field trip I'd take again.

  It was an amazing day! Our guide is driver Ricardo heads made all the difference with his attention, care and knowledge of each alleys and alleys of Valparioso. Really a wonderful day. And took us to a very good restaurant.
