This private tour is perfect for those who want to fully experience the charm of Hakone in just half a day.
The greatest strength of this tour is its flexibility. Taking into account the season, weather, and your personal preferences, our experienced guide will propose a customized itinerary during a briefing at your pick-up point. For example, if you’d like to enjoy Hakone’s stunning views from various angles, you can choose a plan that includes Lake Ashi, the Hakone Ropeway, and Owakudani. If you’re interested in visiting power spots, a plan with Hakone Shrine is recommended. For those who enjoy drinks, we can also arrange a plan visiting Hakone’s wineries or craft breweries.
Due to time constraints, we will visit selected recommended spots, and depending on your pick-up location, it may not be possible to cover all the places you wish to see. Typically, we visit 3–4 locations.

Hakone Shrine: Hakone Shrine, situated on the shores of Lake Ashi, is a historically significant shrine known for its sacred atmosphere. The beautiful shrine buildings, harmoniously integrated with the surrounding nature, and the iconic vermillion torii gate seemingly floating on the lake's surface, captivate visitors. The reflection of the torii gate and Mount Fuji in the lake creates a breathtaking view. It is also a popular power spot, attracting many worshippers. From the shrine grounds, you can enjoy stunning views of Lake Ashi and, on a clear day, Mount Fuji. Admission fee: Free
Owakudani: Owakudani, accessible via the Hakone Ropeway, is an active volcanic valley still emitting steam. The strong smell of sulfur and the unique landscape offer a truly otherworldly experience. The black eggs, a local specialty, are said to add seven years to your life if you eat one. Geothermal hot springs also abound, providing a unique opportunity to experience the area's volcanic activity. The surrounding area offers numerous onsen (hot springs), foot baths, and souvenir shops. Admission fee: Ropeway fee separate

She was insightful and accommodating, and when she got to know us, she suggested things to do that would appeal to my young adults as well as myself. 5.00Miu was wonderful! She took us everywhere we wanted to go and more. She was kind, efficient, and knowledgeable. It was very helpful to have the Hakone Freepass as well so we could seamlessly use the ropeways and sightseeing boat. We were able to get decent views of Mt. Fuji before the weather got cloudy. Miu arranged for our lunch reservation and kindly helped us navigate to our next stop. My family enjoyed this half day tour immensely.

4.00Very relaxed, low key way to see the area. Could have moved along a little more quickly - however, Mui was terrific especially since this was only her 2nd tour. She intro'd us to some local fare, as well as ensured we saw some "off the beaten path" locales. We felt fortunate to have spent a half day with her.

5.00Highly recommend this experience! We had a fantastic tour with Kumi. She showed us everything that we said we were interested in, at a very comfortable pace. Being with someone so knowledgeable made it stress-free and we could fit in lots (eg she would move the car while we travelled by cable car so we didn't have to do return journeys). Seeing Mount Fuji was so wonderful and we had a great view from a really nice café that Kumi took us to. We tried the volcanic black eggs, took a ride on the pirate ship, saw a wood carving demonstration (such skilled local work) and stopped at other places of interest eg river, temple, shrine. We really enjoyed Kumi's company and it was very interesting to be able to ask questions about Japanese culture and history. (We were travelling as a couple with our teenage son).

5.00Jon was a younger tour guide who ensured we saw what was on our list of places to visit. He took us to visit a Temple with 500 statues (goal), the Skyline, Lake Ashi, Hakone Shrine, little shopping area to eat lunch and Sake tasting and the sulfur pits. 5.00We had such a wonderful tour with Jonh! He was flexible with needing to stop for cash and made a great itinerary for a family of 6 with ages ranging from 10 to 75 yrs old. He guided us through a temple and explained everything and helped us get our lucky fortunes for 2026. He helped us order at the food vendors and he explained and dropped us at the Gondola ride up the volcanic valley with views of Mt Fuji. He was also kind enough to drop us at Odawara station to catch the Shinkansen to Tokyo. Great tour and highly recommend Jonh as your guide!
