This private tour is perfect for those who want to fully experience the charm of Hakone in just half a day.
The greatest strength of this tour is its flexibility. Taking into account the season, weather, and your personal preferences, our experienced guide will propose a customized itinerary during a briefing at your pick-up point. For example, if you’d like to enjoy Hakone’s stunning views from various angles, you can choose a plan that includes Lake Ashi, the Hakone Ropeway, and Owakudani. If you’re interested in visiting power spots, a plan with Hakone Shrine is recommended. For those who enjoy drinks, we can also arrange a plan visiting Hakone’s wineries or craft breweries.
Due to time constraints, we will visit selected recommended spots, and depending on your pick-up location, it may not be possible to cover all the places you wish to see. Typically, we visit 3–4 locations.

Hakone Shrine: Hakone Shrine, situated on the shores of Lake Ashi, is a historically significant shrine known for its sacred atmosphere. The beautiful shrine buildings, harmoniously integrated with the surrounding nature, and the iconic vermillion torii gate seemingly floating on the lake's surface, captivate visitors. The reflection of the torii gate and Mount Fuji in the lake creates a breathtaking view. It is also a popular power spot, attracting many worshippers. From the shrine grounds, you can enjoy stunning views of Lake Ashi and, on a clear day, Mount Fuji. Admission fee: Free
Owakudani: Owakudani, accessible via the Hakone Ropeway, is an active volcanic valley still emitting steam. The strong smell of sulfur and the unique landscape offer a truly otherworldly experience. The black eggs, a local specialty, are said to add seven years to your life if you eat one. Geothermal hot springs also abound, providing a unique opportunity to experience the area's volcanic activity. The surrounding area offers numerous onsen (hot springs), foot baths, and souvenir shops. Admission fee: Ropeway fee separate

5.00Jon was a younger tour guide who ensured we saw what was on our list of places to visit. He took us to visit a Temple with 500 statues (goal), the Skyline, Lake Ashi, Hakone Shrine, little shopping area to eat lunch and Sake tasting and the sulfur pits. We really enjoyed our tour and the history shared

5.00We had such a wonderful tour with Jonh! He was flexible with needing to stop for cash and made a great itinerary for a family of 6 with ages ranging from 10 to 75 yrs old. He guided us through a temple and explained everything and helped us get our lucky fortunes for 2026. He helped us order at the food vendors and he explained and dropped us at the Gondola ride up the volcanic valley with views of Mt Fuji. He was also kind enough to drop us at Odawara station to catch the Shinkansen to Tokyo. Great tour and highly recommend Jonh as your guide!

5.00We had a wonderful experience in Hakone with this company. The 4-hour tour was the perfect length—we hit every major spot we wanted to see, but the pacing was excellent and we never felt rushed. Our guide was a highlight: incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and very conversational, which made the day even better. If you want to see the best of Hakone efficiently, book this tour!

4.00Sun was an excellent guide ! We enjoyed our experience tremendously ! We love seeing the volcano, the temples, the gravesite the waterfalls in the future. I might suggest going to the open air museum, but everything was terrific.

5.00Wonderful 4 hour tour with Kumi, who took us on a tour of Hakone area plus nearby mountains. She molded the tour to our preferences at the start, and took us to see many natural beauties, as well as spectacular views of the area. Mount Fuji was behind clouds, but that was not her fault. She drove safely and comfortably and was full of information about the areas we traveled through. There was the right balance of walking about and exploring, and being ferried about, so our comfort was considered. We’re very happy we received her attention!

5.00Kumi was an incredible tour guide who helped us see everything we wanted to see in Hakone. She planned out a tour that went to each spot and more, was very friendly, and had great skincare advice (per our request!). If you buy your free pass in advance, the tour is seamless. Highly recommended!
