  We thank our tour guide, John, for an amazing, private walking tour of Malacca. John met us at our hotel and took us off the tourist trail for a personalized tour of Malacca. We saw Malay and Chinese homes, authentic Nonya restaurants where the locals eat and we walked along the river to take photos at some amazing viewpoints. Since we are history buffs, John, who was a wealth of information, explained to us the history of Malacca from the time of the Sultanate, to the Portuguese, to the Dutch, to the British, to the Japanese occupation and to the present era. Our highlights were the main square, the ruins of St. Paul's church and lovely bridges which overlooked the gorgeous restaurants and businesses along both sides of the river. John also took us to a hidden tea shop where we enjoyed the best cendol dessert in Malacca....WOW! He also took us shopping to purchase spices and sambals to take home. We appreciated John's care and attention to detail. And we thank him for suggesting great spots to take pictures and for taking those pictures for us.

  This trip with friends from Taiwan to Malaysia with their families was specially arranged for a half-day Malacca tour (4-hour private group with Chinese interpretation). Our guide was Tay, who arrived at the door of the bed and breakfast on time early in the morning to give a very reassuring, professional first impression. With elders, pregnant women and small children on our team, Tay was very thoughtful in her itinerary and route planning, and the overall pace was smooth and effortless. Special arrangements were made for Cendol Ice on the way to give everyone a summer break, and finally to help settle down for our lunch before leaving, with excellent service. During the guided tour, Tay explains the story of Malacca, from murals to buildings, focusing on the cultural background and folklore of Malacca, giving us a number of interesting and vivid stories. He also kept reminding everyone to take pictures and offered to take pictures for us, leaving us with many precious memories of Malacca. Overall, it was a pretty good, relaxing and intimate travel experience. If a place is to be proposed that can be strengthened, it will be hoped that the historical aspects of the content will be more fleshed out, such as Malacca's more complete history and time frame of development, I believe will make the guided content richer and more complete.

  This was one of the best private tours we have done anywhere in the world! Mimi was an exceptional guide and gave us insight into Melaka's melting pot of history and culture. Her knowledge and enthusiasm are outstanding and she took great care we were comfortable throughout the 4 + hours. Highly recommend if you want a real Melaka experience with a delightful guide who will also teach you songs and dances!

  We booked the 4-hour Private Walking Tour for our first day in Melaka with John as our guide and we were so pleased that we did! John was friendly, knowledgeable and easy to get along with which made the tour so enjoyable. Whilst seeing all of the important sites we learnt so much about the history of Melaka - from the origin of its name, through the various periods of history, to the reasons for the multicultural nature of the City. John also took us to some places you wouldn’t see on a group guided tour - some ‘off the beaten track’ side streets with fantastic wall art depicting the tradesmen of Melaka through the years, he had twigged that we would be interested in this so added it to the tour!   An excellent tour with Olivia our guide - she was extremely knowledgeable about Makacca’s history and we learned a huge amount. She went at a pace suitable for our needs and took care to find shade wherever possible.
