Barron Gorge National Park
Driving up the Kuranda Range and passing through the small village of Kuranda. Here we enjoy a short driving tour of the village, before continuing to the World Heritage listed Barron Gorge National Park. This is home to the famous Barron Falls, which makes for a great photo opportunity at the stunning Wrights lookout.

5.00Michelle gave us an amazing tour with my family! She was incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable! She helped when I started to feel sick, was flexible with our touring itinerary, and overall shared a ton of information about Australia/Cairns. It was such a unique experience and so much fun.

5.00Steve was great! We didn’t have a lot of time in Cairns, so I booked the private half-day tour for my two adult, sons and myself. I am so glad I did! We saw highlights of the geography learned about the flora and fauna, and had a generally fantastic fun afternoon experience.

5.00If you're wondering if you should visit the rainforest - stop. You should! The trip is nicely organized - you'll get to see the most interesting stuff in few hours. And if you'll get Simon as your guide - it's a double win! He's just great. Gives best insider tips, true and honest information about the region and Australia. Unbelivable fauna and flora knowledge and great sense of humour. Thanks!

5.00The guide Jean was really nice and he knows everything you need to know about the forest! The tour was amazing, with some great views of the forest and waterfalls!! I really recommend the tour for everyone!! We could also see some Wallabies near by! Great memories!

5.00Our guide, Steve, was awesome and very knowledgeable about the tour and country as a whole. It is a very unique trip that allows you to experience the more suburban parts of Australia. My family greatly enjoyed the excursion and would definitely recommend!!

5.00This tour is amazing picked up and returned to accomodation train up to rainforest lunch at the pub best hamburgers I’ve ever had stroll around markets people friendly and welcoming skyrail back was thrilling do yourself a favour try this you won’t be disappointed

5.00My daughters and I did the half day 4wd tour of the rainforest and waterfalls. We were picked up at our hotel and spent the next 4.5 hrs viewing waterfalls and beautiful landscapes. Steve our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and very engaging. We really enjoyed the tropical fruit tasting as well. Highly recommend this tour.

5.00Wow I was lucky enough to experience this amazing tour of the world’s oldest heritage rainforest I experienced this lush rainforest with beautiful creeks weaving through the terrain with gorgeous water falls and there was also board walk around one the oldest fig trees in world and to my surprise at the end of the board walk our wonderful tour guide Steve had a picnic basket prepared with tea & coffee and fresh Anzac biscuits it was a wonderful little treat to be able to enjoy a cuppa with this amazing fig tree in the rainforest, but with this tour you will also see Kuranda “before the tourists arrive” the far north farming region and our amazing outback. What made this tour so special and different from other tours was the simple fact they cater for small private groups and our tour guide Steve was truly amazing with his wealth of knowledge of the region and the forna was exceptional, he went out of his way to accommodate everyone’ s requests of things they wanted to see and do, and this is the only tour that I have been on that you have the flexibility to do that, and we were a group of 4 which was fantastic and when you visit sites there is no one else around because it is a heritage site there are only a couple of passes a year given out to tour companies so it is still in prestine condition, with only your little group. Overall this tour is a must see not only for tourists but for locals as well I have lived here for over 25 years and I there were so many places that I never knew existed on our tour today so a big thank you to everyone at Discovery Tours for giving taking pride in giving guests such a unique experience.
