Lake of the Restored Sword (Hoan Kiem Lake)
Situated in Hanoi, Hoan Kiem Lake draws locals and tourists searching for a relaxing escape from the noise and bustles of the Old Quarter’s streets. Deemed as the heart of Hanoi, the lake is regarded as a legendary spot, which further amplifies much of its prestige and makes it remarkable amid several other lakes in the northern region.
Hanoi Opera House
The beautiful Hanoi Opera House was built in 1911 by the then ruling French. It’s a phenomenal piece of neo-classical French architecture featuring Gothic themes on the doors and domes with pillars, shuttered windows, balconies and a glass room. Musicians, actors and dancers play to a 600-strong audience delivering powerful operatic and classical performances, making it a very popular theatrical attraction.

5.00We booked this tour directly through Crossing Vietnam Tour (having used them on another tour). Harley was professional in answering our questions and making our booking. Tour guide Justin met us at our hotel and took us to a series of local restaurants where we sampled various Hanoi dishes, starting with a Hanoi classic, Bún Chả (grilled pork with vermicelli rice noodles). Most dishes balance the meat with a range of fresh greens and garnishes, such as crushed peanuts. This is finished with a serve of exquisite coconut ice cream. The walking tour took us to French buildings and monuments to Vietnamese historical figures. We walked alongside Hoan Kiem Lake. Justin has a good knowledge of English and was able to respond to our many questions about Vietnam's history and cuisine.

5.00The tour guide Lily speaks superb English and very knowledgeable of Hanoi city . We went to 4 stores and ate TONs of delicious Vietnamese traditional food ; highlight ends at train street with very cool close ups with local train passing by . Highly recommend this tour and tour guide Lily !

5.00My husband and I did the French Quarter tour with Sarah. Sarah picked us up from the hotel and took us to the opera house by taxi. From there we walked around the French Quarter, I had a purple potato ice cream from the oldest ice cream makers and my husband had a coconut ice cream. We went past several grand old French built places and had a magnificent banh mi roll with omelette and char siu pork. After a little stroll we had some dry rice noodles with chicken and peanuts and a most delicious broth. A further walk took us through silver street and to a place where we had salted coffee. Sarah is very knowledgeable and just lovely, her English is excellent too. We had a great tour and really enjoyed all the delicious treats. Thanks, Sarah!

5.00Highly recommend this tour. We learnt so much about the food and best spots In Hanoi. Gen was fab she was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of info. The food was fab and we even went back for more. Gen also kindly took us to train street which we really appreciated. Thankyou Gen and team X
