  It was a unique experience to do this tour with Lalu last month during our visit to The Golden Fort , Jaisalmer , Rajasthan . Lalu is very knowledgable about the history of the fort . He was born in his ancestral home in the fort . It is one of the few living forts in India where about 2000 people live . Unfortunately I was a bit hampered due to an ankle injury sustained few days back . Lalu was most considerate and chose areas where I wouldn’t have to climb . He explained the history of the fort so well that I still remember word for word what he told us ! This fort, other than its spectacular architecture , which has withstood earthquakes , battles and sieges was made famous in a film by Satyajit Ray of the same name or “ Sonar Kella “ . Lalu confirmed that tourism had increased after the film was released in 1974 . I wanted to see the sites where the film was shot . Lalu sent an auto early next morning to our hotel and took us to the sites where film scenes were shot while replaying video clips of the film on his ‘phone at the same time ! I was overwhelmed by this experience as this visit was a dream of mine since my childhood years ! I thoroughly recommend Lalu as one of the best tour guides we have met during our memorable trip to Rajasthan last month .

  The walk with Laluji as a guide through Jaisalmer Fort and the city was an enlightening experience. His knowledge about the city events, its geography and history, snippets from history made our trip even more enjoyable. He is very punctual and helpful. He came across as a friendly person, shared his interests like photography which made the heritage walk memorable. Thank you Laluji for a great time and well spent.

  I am a tour operator from Austria and have been working in this profession (organizing study trips worldwide) for 40 years. During a study trip to Rajasthan, I was assigned Lalu as a tour guide in Jaisalmer. We spent two exciting days with him. We were impressed not only by his extensive knowledge and insight into the history and the architecture of this city, but also by his precise explanations and his ability to convey everyday life in the desert city. Lalu, thank you very much for being such a great companion and tour guide through your hometown. Perfect lead!

  I had a wonderful tour with Lalu ji through Jaisalmer Fort and the Havelis. His knowledge about the history of the fort and the city is truly exceptional. While I always read up on a place before visiting, Lalu ji shared certain fascinating facts and local insights that only a true local would know. He was consistently polite and humble. Highly recommended!

  It’s hard to express my gratitude to Lalit for facilitating such a delightful experience. Which included personalised services, visiting wonderful parts of the fort, exceptional guidance throughout, staying in the fort, lovely dining plus excellent views and the list goes on.   My partner and I went on a walking tour with Lalu. He was on-time, personable, and had great historical knowledge of the city. We enjoyed our time with him and wish the tour was longer.

  Lalu showed us around the best neighborhoods of Jaisalmer he took us to the quiet neighborhoods away from tourists these explanations were top quality when the light went down and tourists left so we saw the rest!!   Jaya Salman was the first time for all of us. We did a girls trip. And the experience was nothing short of marvellous. The icing on the cake clearly was Lalit or Lalu as people fondly call him… To see city through a local size is definitely another level of feeling - That is exactly you get when you do a trip with him. The detailing that he did for us right from what to eat, and went to go shopping to wear to pick up stuff - All of it was for excellence. Will go back again for his amazing hospitality

  Emmanuel and I had a rich and wonderful experience with Mr. Lalit (Lalu). He was quick to understand that we were primarily interested in the history of Jaisalmer and wanted to experience something authentic. The fort walk was an enriching experience and so were the walks to the famous havelis. Lalu also took us to Humaari Haveli for an authentic home-cooked Rajasthani meal. Since Emmanuel is French, Mr. Lalit ensured mild spices in our food, which made the ‘thaali’ experience very enjoyable. Being a local Mr. Lalit also helped us understand local customs and rituals. We had told him that we are not interested in shopping so he ensured no trips to stores, which gave us ample time to immerse ourselves in the beauty of the city. We highly recommend Mr. Lalit’s services. He is knowledgeable and respectful of both his clients and the locals in the area.
