National parks are very rarely within a city, and yet Bukhansan Mountain was designated as the 15th national park of Korea in 1983. Bukhansan National Park boasts of many gorges and granite peaks with crystal clear streams flowing between them. Hiking to the summit can be challenging and can take between 4-6 hours subject to individual pace.

5.00We had the best day hiking with our guide Jimmy. The day was seamless, Jimmy picked us up on time from our hotel, picked up snacks and lunch for our group, and recommended a trail that was challenging but doable for our family. He was easy to communicate with over text prior to the excursion. He is very knowledgeable about the mountain and patient. We couldn’t have done it without him!

5.00It was a great hiking trip for 1st timer hikers like our family. The hiking trip was well managed on difficulty level that we can cope and enjoy...nice scenery and experience guide to help us manage our journey at comfortable pace..we chatted along the way and understood some history about korea, temple on this mountain and many other things. 5.00Excellent time with Minho. Picked up continently from the hotel and grabbed food for the journey on the way. I needed a good home before a trip to Tibet and the tough route up Bukhansan was exactly what I needed. Uneven ground and very humid but with good pace. As we got higher the view became more cloudy but we met many nice people on the way. It’s not a simple climb towards the top but steady will get you there and it’s worth it. The communal lunch hang is unique and then back down to see the spectacular temples and history before the not so fun traffic back into seoul. Minho is a great guide and someone who will take good care of you on a trip to Bukhansan.
