The Golden Gate
The Golden Gate is the main entrance to the Palace, and one of the four main Roman gates into the Diocletian's Palace. The gate is on the road to the north, towards Salona, the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia and Diocletian's birthplace. Golden Gate are situated opposite to one more very known monument, Gregory of Nin.
The Peristyle of Diocletian's Palace
From Riva we will enter into the central part of the cellars of the Diocletian`s Palace where I am going to tell you about it s usage during history. Leaving the cellars, we are now at Peristyle, the open space of the imperial square. As a central spot of the Palace, it is framed on both sides by monumental arcades and oriented towards the imperial loggia. Admire the stunning colonnaded square, one of the most beautiful ones on the Mediterranean. Also you will be able to hear about transitions of the buildings and life as result of expansion of christianity.

5.00I really enjoyed every moment of walking old town, its streets, squares. Ivan is knowledgeable , funny and easygoing . As a solo traveler, would definitely recommend this tour to get familiar with the city .

Whatever period, or particular event you are interested in, Ivan will explain the whole story that led to it with numerous interesting details which only true masters know.
