This tour is ideal for visitors looking to explore the culture and flavors of Ios in a relaxed and meaningful way.
We start by visiting the archaeological site of Skarkos, a remarkably preserved prehistoric settlement that reveals the island’s ancient roots.
After a short walk along a traditional stone path, we ride through the countryside to Diaseli Cheesery, a small-scale, family-run cheese farm nestled among olive groves. There, you’ll enjoy a guided tasting of handmade cheeses, produced with love using traditional methods.
Along the way, we pass through private gardens with olive, fig, and vine trees, enjoying the smells and sights of the island’s fertile valley.

5.00We had a fabulous day with George, he was full of information about the island and nothing was too much trouble. The bikes were in excellent condition and the visit to the cheese factory was a highlight. An experience we will never forget.

5.00This excursion was brilliant. George, my guide, was a wealth of information. He has written books about Ios, it's pathways, history and folklore. En route to the cheesery, we stopped and visited land owned by him where he is growing olives, pomegranate, almonds, grapes, oregano to name but a few. The ebike was first class and needed to be as we ascended steeply towards the cheesery, pausing occasionally to take pictures of the astounding views and listen while George continued to inform with a raft of background facts and stories. The cheesery was superb! Our hostess showed us around ancient dwellings, grain mills, old tools of the trade used, up until very recently, by generations of family cheese makers. The Cheese platter was adorable with 7 or 8 different cheeses, different types of honey, a salad with all local produce, washed down with a glass or 2 of a fine local Rosé. Our route back was particularly pleasant, partly because it was downhill pretty much all the way and partly because of the spectacular views and photo opportunities afforded by our descent. We clocked 27km for the round trip and as a man of pensionable age, I have to say it wasn't too physical at all. Do yourself a favour, book it up and go, you will not be disappointed

5.00George gave us an experience that you won't find amongst your typical tourist activities in Greece. He took us on a ride which encapsulated the beauty and historical aspects of Ios. He knew so much about the local landscape, the history of the island, key landmarks that helped shape the island and other features. He was patient, encouraging and looked after us the whole way. A truly incredible experience that we highly recommend to anyone visiting Ios. Thank you George for a unforgettable experience!

5.00This tour is perfect if you want to know more about Ios. George was so amazing and very passionate about the preservation of the history of the Island. He even picked us up from our hotel! He is dedicated to providing knowledge to all that have interest. Skarkos archeological site was amazing to see. George provided a wealth of information on the history and traditions on Ios. Helen provided a tour of Diaseli Cheesery and spoke to the equipment that is used on a traditional farm and the amount of labour involved. The cheese tasting was so delicious and Helen was an excellent host! George was a great help when it came to familiarizing us with the e-bikes and made sure we were comfortable. He gave us the opportunity to see the land that he and his wife cultivate with olive trees, fig trees and oregano. We were treated with fresh figs that he allowed us to pick from one of his fig trees. So delicious! I highly recommend exploring the island with George! You will not be disappointed!

5.00My friends and I all agreed that this was the most worthwhile thing we’ve ever done on a vacation. Our guide, George, was not only knowledgeable about the history of the island but also very funny and personable. I learned so much about Ios. The tour lasted 4-5 hours with a 1500 ft elevation gain in 81 degree weather. George came prepared with lots of water for everyone as well as dried figs as a snack, grown from his own trees. He also had powdered electrolytes to make sure no one got dehydrated. The cheesery had amazing cheese and wine as well as a fun tour with explanation of the history of the cheesery and how it’s changed throughout the generations. You should have good cardiovascular health to do this activity but don’t need to be an expert on a bike at all the electric component makes the trek up the mountain doable.

5.00What is there bad to say.... nothing at all. The bikes were in good repair, the views were awesome, George our guide was full of knowledge, wisdom, and laughter. You can tell George has a passion for life here on the island and is very proud of the place he calls home. It comes out while he shares information and history of Ios. As foodies, history nerds, and gym rats. My wife and I loved this tour. So step away from the beach and the bars for a few, and jump on a E-bike with George I promise you won't be disappointed
