We had a group of 10 and Beggi, our tour guide was absolutely incredible! We took the super Jeep from Reykjavík to the Langjokull Glacier for a day trip. Beggi is a knowledgeable tour guide, and an expert at navigating his way up to the glacier. The day was spectacular and a once in a lifetime experience. We also went through the ice cave and then toured around the glacier.

I can not begin to express the wonderful experience we had touring Iceland with Mountain Taxi. It started with Björk's patience answering our questions and finding us an itinerary that fit our needs. We spent 3 days touring with Kristján. It was amazing from the ice caves, waterfalls, and top of the Langjökull glacier. Kristján is not the type of tour guide that sits in the jeep while you explore or eat. He is an enormous wealth of knowledge on Iceland, and pretty much everything. Kristján is out exploring along side, sharing history, and finding crowberries with you. We had torrential rain one day. Kristján improvised plans to include Friðheimar which usually requires reservations months in advance. It seems everywhere we went that he knew people. Mountain Taxi is a must for exploring Iceland.

Fabulous six day experience with Beggi. From being picked up at the airport to being dropped off at our final destination Beggi looked after us as he would his own family. We did not have to think about anything, just wake up in time and get in the jeep and he did the rest. We saw so many fantastic parts of Iceland and learnt so much about the geography and culture of the country. We were genuinely sad to say goodbye to him. I 100% recommend. We will be back to see Lave next time!

If you are visiting Iceland and looking for an amazing experience with a driver that is not just a driver but a guide You have found it. Mountain Taxi was professional, knowledgable and brought us to places that only locals would know about. I highly recommend you reach out to Mountain taxi when you are planning your trip. They are not just a taxi, private driver service. They are able to help you plan your trip and recommend hotels, restaurants and which adventures to go on.
Best Way to Experience Iceland, Especially in Winter

So for our honeymoon, my wife and I decided to come out to Iceland for the winter, in hopes that we might see the Northern Lights. We stayed in Reykjavik the first few days, and slowly everything was getting cancelled due to the crazy blizzards and weather. When we were ready to go drive down to Vik, Kristjan picked us up in his truck and single handedly saved the entire trip. He was very friendly, incredibly knowledgeable about the history of everything with Iceland and knew all the best spots to see. Importantly, he was extremely safe on the treacherous roads, and highly experienced with any of the weather and conditions that faced us. More importantly, he had made our desire come try by helping us see the Northern Lights. I am now convinced that the Northern Lights are not based on luck, but perseverance of the cold weather, and patience for breaking in the cloud cover, as one night Kristjan casually remarked, "I think we will get the lights tonight" and he was right. Do yourself a favor, and do not bother with renting a car, you will likely get trapped on the side of the road, while someone else is having an amazing experience with Mountain Taxi. 30 years of experience will make a huge difference, even if you have him booked for just 3 hours.

It was a great experience. I was in touch with the tour provider before and they were always very prompt and helpful. Our guide / driver Gunnar was awesome. Best tour / experience ever.

Can only recommend doing this tour. The driver was a good guide and good driver. Recommend booking the trip with Mountain Taxi. All in all very pleased with the experience we he see a lot in one day and now I want to buy my own Toyota Land Cruiser with 40” wheels. Don't think about booking!!
