Kbal Spean: Located in the lush forests of the Kulen Hills, approximately 50 kilometers northeast of Siem Reap, Kbal Spean is a unique archaeological site often referred to as the "River of a Thousand Lingas." This remarkable site features intricate carvings and sculptures etched into the riverbed and banks, depicting Hindu deities, animals, and symbols. Banteay Srei is renowned for its detailed and elaborate carvings that cover the walls, lintels, and pediments of the temple. These carvings depict scenes from Hindu mythology, including stories from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, as well as intricate floral and geometric patterns. The craftsmanship is considered some of the finest in Khmer art. Banteay Samre showcases the Angkor Wat architectural style, with a central sanctuary surrounded by gopuras (entrance towers), libraries, and a series of concentric galleries. The temple's layout and design are reminiscent of Angkor Wat, but on a smaller scale.

Banteay Srei

    I joined my friend Rony on the Kbal Spean Trekking Tour with Banteay Srei. It was an amazing and delightful experience.The journey to the riverbank carvings via lovely trees was a magnificent experience. The tour was made much more interesting by the informed guide and the beautiful architecture of Banteay Srei. The car was clean and appeared like new, and the driver was punctual.
