Begin with pickup at your local hotel or the Zermatt railway station, then start a short walking tour through the picture-perfect town of Zermatt.

Ride the famous Gornergrat cog wheel train up to the best viewpoint of the Matterhorn. And enjoy sweeping views of the Alpine scenery during the 35-minute ride

If you wish you can hike down to the Riffelsee to take fantastic pictures of the Matterhorn.

You’ll have time to relax on the summit and learn about the surrounding landmarks, including the Monte Rosa Hut: originally a simple, stone structure for mountaineers, the new hut is ultra-modern and super efficient, with solar power and gleaming aluminum cladding.

Descend the cog railway back into Zermatt. This tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel or the Zermatt train station.

Excellent trip with our guide Pete. Went to the top of the mountain with excellent views, the zoom theater and enjoyed a 90 hike with spectacular views. Enjoyed a wonderful lunch over looking Materhorn and finished our experience with a tour of Zermott. Pete was extremely knowledgeable in all details around Switzerland, the alps, skiing etc. would highly recommend this experience and specifically with Pete.

What an amazing adventure. David was our guide for the day. We rode the train to the top of Mt Gourgerat and spent time taking pictures and a hot chocolate at the lodge. We then took the train back down the mountain and got off and took a long hike back to Zermatt. David our guide was informative and a pleasure to listen to as he provided us with the history of the region and its chalet architecture. Thank you David for a wonderful and amazing adventure today!

We booked through Viator and we were not disappointed. David was our guide and very knowledgeable about the area. He lives and works in the Zermatt area and provide so many insights. Loved the train ride, amazing views on a beautiful clear day and we hiked down from the last train stop in to town to truly see, smell and experience Zermatt.

My Mountains organized a fabulous Swiss adventure. This was our first trip to Switzerland, and they combined sightseeing, cultural experiences, and skiing. Our trip was everything we hoped it would be. They put together an all inclusive package with excellent guides, beautiful accommodations, and wonderful travel arrangements. The trip began by being greeted at the Zurich airport by Leo, who was very generous with his time, getting us oriented to all things Swiss, and getting us on our train to Lucern. As an added bonus, it was Carnival, in Lucern. If you are traveling in March to Lucern, this is a spectacle not to be missed. The Golden Pass rail trip from Lucern to Montreux was another unexpected highlight. Our trip was seamless, relaxing, and very enjoyable. Many thanks to our friends at My Mountains.

We absolutely loved this tour. Our guide, Jack, met us at our hotel and first took us by train to Mt Gornergrat to see amazing views. We then toured the Zoom museum and had a lovely lunch on the mountain. After our time on the mountain, we came back by train to Zermatt where Jack showed us key sites, restaurants and shopping in Zermatt. Along the way, we learned much about the culture and history of the town. I would highly recommend the tour and Jack as the guide.

Jack was very attentive. In spite of rain we had a great day. We had a nice overview of the area and a tour up Gornergrat.
The Matterhorn and Zermatt private tour, a MUST do activity. Ask for Pete!

What an incredible time we had with Pete during our tour! My wife and I enjoyed Pete's company, he shared many insights about Zermatt. He also has a great sense of humor! He led us on a hike from one of the viewing areas down to a wonderful restaurant, Alphitta, where we listened to live music and enjoyed the hosts' kindness. We had great views of the Matterhorn and the surrounding Alps! What a fabulous day! Thanks for making it so enjoyable, Pete!!

Our guide, Gabriella, was fantastic! She was knowledgeable and flexible. She listened to what we had hoped to see and managed our expectations very well especially due to the weather. We took a trek of the quaint town and then up in the hills to get a higher perspective of the village. The views were magnificent and lush. Finally, we took the train up to Gornegrat to see the various peaks. While the clouds partially covered the Matterhorn, the experience was surreal especially being high up at 10,000 feet, covered in snow. We did get to see the Matterhorn on the way down. Thank you for a wonderful time!
Pete is the best guide - what a wonderful family day!

Such a great option for a family excursion. It's perfect if you have people in your group who don't ski, but you still want them to experience the magic feeling of being on the slopes. Me, my sister, and our parents had Pete as our guide, and he absolutely made the day for us! He made the day so easy and was incredibly attentive to all of our needs. His agenda was much more fun and memorable compared to if we had just booked tickets up to Gornergrat and toured alone. He took us on a breathtaking hike through the snow and to a mountain restaurant for an excellent lunch with a view. One thing to note, the hike is a little steep - it might not be right if you have someone with mobility issues. However, since it's a private tour, I'm sure this part of the agenda could be changed. Thanks to Pete, we also got way better pictures and videos of this awesome excursion, instead of just our usual selfies or incomplete family photos we normally take when travelling. We will never forget this trip! What a great investment into our family memory bank.
