Angkor Wat
You will begin your day around 5:00am, when you will be escorted to the world’s biggest religious monument, Angkor Wat. You can gaze at the sheer magnificence of this site as the sun slowly rises over this majestic building, making it shimmer a dusky gold. After sunrise, we'll explore the grounds of Angkor Wat temple. We will then return to your hotel for getting breakfast.
Bayon Temple
Your next destination is Angkor Thom, one of Cambodia’s ‘big three’ temples. You will be escorted to the South gate of the temple, and you can explore this amazing feat of Khmer architecture. Next is the Bayon temple. This is one of the richest, most carefully built temples of the Khmer Empire, built between the 12th and 13th centuries.
Ta Prohm
Afterwards, you will visit another stunning example of ancient Cambodian architecture, Ta Prohm.
Banteay Samre
After enjoying a lunch near these temples, you can visit two other temples. The Banteay Samre is built in the same style as Angkor Wat, and was erected during the 12th century.
Banteay Srei
Once you’ve seen this as well as the Banteay Srey, you will be brought back to your hotel for a well-deserved rest!
Prasat Beng Mealea
Wake up early, and be ready to leave the hotel at seven in the morning. You will be visiting another 2 temples today. The Beng Mealea, the name of which means Lotus Pond, is one of those on your list. You can admire this lovely temple, especially thanks to its raised platform which you can use to walk upon. The Beng Mealea was also added by UNESCO to its list of World Heritage Monuments.Wake up early, and be ready to leave the hotel at seven in the morning. You will be visiting another 2 temples today. Koh Ker Temple
Once you’re done here, you can go on to see Koh Ker. This is a majestic structure, encapsulating a pyramid with 7 tiers.
Banteay Srei
After eating some lunch near the temples, you can move on to see Banteay Srey. This is also called the jewel of the Khmer, thanks to its smaller structures. The entire temple has numerous intricate carvings, and the structure was built out of red sandstone. Once you finish up here, go back to your hotel for the night.
Phnom Kulen National Park
The entire day of today will be devoted to a trip to Kulen Mountain. One of Cambodia’s most sacred spots, it is home to various beautiful sites, and you definitely should not miss a visit. Later, drop by the River of a Thousand Lingas. Here, you can look into the river and see several hundred lingams (the symbol of the god Shiva) etched into the bank. There are also quite a few motifs and carvings of the god in the area. Another popular attraction is that of the sacred Reclining Buddha. Many come here on a short pilgrimage to pay their respects. There are also quite a few gorgeous waterfalls in the area. In the later afternoon, you can ride a quad bike around the countryside. Gaze at the sun setting, staining the Cambodian sky with its shifting shades, before returning your bikes and going back to the hotel.

We met our tour guide, Sopea Chhay, and driver at 5 AM on the first morning of our tour for a sunrise encounter with the ancient monastery Angkor Wat. Because of Sopea's extensive experience, we were practically alone to visit Angkor Wat temple before other tourists arrived and were often among a few visitors to other popular temples before the buses with scores of tourists arrived. Sophea was a wonderful tour guide with fifteen years of experience working for top hotels in Siem Reap before starting his own tour company. His boundless knowledge of Khmer history, art and culture and his enthusiasm at sharing this wealth of knowledge with us, enriched our own appreciation of these beautiful ancient monuments. With a university degree in history and management, Sophea provided us with much documentation stored on his tablet and could answer any question we asked. I was particularly interested in Sophea's explanations of the frontal sculptures and engravings from Buddhist and Hindu traditions and from the Ramayana stories. We visited Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm on the first day. The second day, we visited the beautiful Benteay Srie and Koh Ker temples and then the rarely seen temple of Being Mealea amid lotus ponds and wooden walking paths through the ruins. Our third day, we visited Phnom Kulen National Park, the lying Buddha, the River of a Thousand lingas and waterfalls. I felt very privileged to have visited these temples and Khmer monuments with such a knowledgeable, friendly and kind guide and friendly driver. At every stop, we had a fresh bottle of water and cold cloth to refresh us. This was the best experience of our trip to Cambodia and Thailand. Thanks to Sophea!

It was an amazing experience walking in between the archeological sites in Siem Reap, Cambodia. We had booked a consolidated three day tour. Our trip started with a visit to Angkor Wat, one of the oldest and largest temples in the world known for its Khmer architecture.
We marvelled seeing the smiling faces on the towers of the temples of Bayon, posed for photographs with the faces and then went to see temples of Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre. We were awestruck seeing the huge trees growing out of the temples at Ta Prohm, which was picturised in the movie Lara Croft : Tomb Raider. Next day we travelled 120 kms out of Siem Reap to see the Koh Ker temples and the ruins of Beng Mealea. Climbing the six flight of stairs to reach the top of Prasat Thom and getting a 360 degree view of the whole region was once a life time experience. On our last day we enjoyed the cool and serene atmosphere of Kulen mountain, a part of Phnom Kulen National Park. We loved the cool water of the gorgeous waterfall jumping down from a height from this mountain range.
We enjoyed thoroughly our tour only because of Mr.Sophea Chhay of Naga7 tours. He is a powerhouse of knowledge and that he shared with us thoroughly. He explained minutely all the details of all the archeological sites and this is only possible when one loves that subject.
He is very polite and courteous and took great care of us, avoiding crowds, showing the exact spots from where photographs can be taken.
