Rotterdam Centraal Station

Before the Second World War there was no Central Station, but there were four stations around the center. In 1957, the central station was opened at its current location. In 2004 a total renovation of the central station was started, in 2014 the current end result was delivered. The old station could no longer cope with the passenger influx.

Ismael was an exceptional tour guide—very knowledgeable and passionate about Rotterdam’s history and culture. He explained the city’s story with great enthusiasm and insight, making every stop engaging and memorable. He thoughtfully planned the tour timing so we could visit key museums before they closed and took us to several iconic sights. His love for the city truly shows in the way he shares it. We had a great guide and a great tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the history of Rotterdam and told us some great “fun n facts”, a definite must do when in Rotterdam!!

We suggest this experience for any and everyone! We arrived in Rotterdam after an overnight flight and took this excursion an hour after checking in to our hotel. This tour was rejuvenating, educational and so much fun! Izzy was a wonderful guide and gave us a memorable taste of Rotterdam for the short time we were going to be in the city!!

We were expecting it to last two hours. It finished in 75 minutes. Driver was friendly and knowledgeable. Over priced for a little over one hour.

Great city tour for those who only have a few hours in Rotterdam. Our guide WBA’s very knowledgeable about the history and landmarks of the city. The price was very fair and below what I would have expected for a tour of this caliber.

Outstanding! Izzy was on time/even early, at the Central Train Station to meet us. This is a unique way to tour & learn the history of Rotterdam. We LIKE doing this exciting tour option.

Izzy the guide is so passionate and knowledgeable guiding and educating us from the central station to the City Hall and other significant parts of Rotterdam city in relations to history to its current days. An enriching & fun experience and Izzy helped take so many nice photos for us to keep the fond memory. Very pleasantly surprised and not your ordinary rickshaw ride!
