Once in the Vehicle we head towards León, we pass by the Piedra Azules Viewpoint, where we will have the wonderful view towards one of the most active volcanoes in Nicaragua, the Momotombo Volcano and the view towards the impressive Lake Xolotlán, then we will pass through Nagarote, known as the City of Quesillo, a type of Bocadillo popular in Nicaragua and we will continue towards León.
Parque Central de Leon
Arriving in León we will head towards the central square where we will see the impressive and gigantic cathedral of León, the largest in Central America, we will be able to enter and see how beautiful it is inside, then we will go up to the roof. from the church and we will delight in the incredible view of the entire city of León, then we will walk through the central park and learn a little about the culture of the inhabitants of the area.

5.00Expectations Surpassed. First time in Nicaragua. Had no plans and booked this tour last minute. It was available. Best decision I made. Worth every dollar and not expensive when you factor it took us 10 hours to complete itinerary. More to come. Started with hotel pickup. Tour guide at first was Gilbert who took us to Leon where we had a great tour of UNESCO site. The Catedral is 2nd largest in the Americas. First in central America. Amazing photo opportunities up top. $5USD entrance per person. Do not miss. To a walk around the plaza and then hit the local market. Really clean and I bought Mangoes lol. Had lunch in local restaurant right off the plaza. I had the fried tacos with beef and it was great! Next we met Gustavo who took us with a driver to Cerro Negro (black volcano). This is the highlight. A fair warning: it is about an hour hike up a rock pathway. Please do yourself a favor and pace yourself and rest unless you are in great physical shape. I'm not in the best so took 1.5 hours. Please pay the $5 per board for them to carry it up for you. They weigh 5 kgs or 11 lbs. Carrying up an incline for over an hour is nuts! The sand boarding is a highlight. On the way done be careful as you can flip over. Many do since they lose control. This is a Low to Medium Extreme Sport and they warn you about that before you go in. You sign a waiver that no one is responsible and you are in good enough health to do it. All in all magnificent day! Thank you Nica tours and all the team who made it happen. I hope to be back in Nicaragua 🇳🇮

5.00This experience was exceptional from beginning to end. Our driver Anthony gave us the local tour, he was friendly and knowledgeable about his culture. We explored the town of Leon and its history. Then we gathered with Junior and Martin who took us on an adventure of a lifetime at Cerro Negro. They were so friendly and eager to tell us about the history of the town and the volcanoes nearby. We always felt safe and provided clear guidance and instructions. Cerro Negro is a beautiful place and highly recommended.

5.00Above and beyond, we came for only two days to Nicaragua, and the main reason was to sandboard in Cerro Negro. Im so happy we chose this company, our guide Anthony is the most amazing person! All of them are. I can’t recommend this experience enough.

5.00The tour was amazing! I had so much fun! Anthony was very informative, friendly and helpful when I had any questions! Jr. was also very helpful and fun during the sledding part of the trip! Everyone I was in contact with from booking all the way to the end of my adventure was very communicative and friendly! The hike up the volcano wasn’t super difficult but walking uphill in any aspect can be strenuous so make sure you eat breakfast and drink enough water! I am so happy with my experience! Thank you!
