Typically, you will visit The Bund , the colonial-era promenade along the Huangpu River. Then, follow your guide to Yu garden ( Closed on every Mondays), here you will enjoy explore the five century old garden built with charming chambers, exquisitive rockeries, ponds ,pavillions doctted in the lush greens while learning the fasinating history from your guide.

5.00We were in touch with tour operator after making the booking and were able to get it scheduled so that we maximized our time in S’hai before boarding our cruise that afternoon. Our guide, Annie, and her driver timed our tour perfectly and dropped us off the the Int’l. Cruise Terminal at the perfect time to board. In addition to that, the tour was excellent. We went on a Saturday which helped us avoid traffic delays and we were a couple of weeks after Chinese New Year so the locals were also gone from the city. We started at the S’hai Tower and the views are spectacular- a must if you get a sunny day as we had. We then went to other sites that Annie recommended and which coincided with our selections. We went to Yu Gardens which was quite crowded but Annie did a great job of maneuvering us through the crowds. We skipped the walking tour of The Bund because we had done that on our own a few days earlier. Annie was still able to explain the history while we peered down from the Tower. We went to the “Marriage Market” which was a lot of fun and insightful to current Chinese social norms, Jade Buddha Temple, and lunch at the mall. Annie shared some of her experiences growing up in S’hai and how she socializes today with her friends. She was very open and sharing about life in China.

5.00Excellent personalized tour with our guide, Sean, who was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating regarding the things we wanted to see. He has a great attitude and clearly loves his work. Sean’s English was impeccable as well! We also had an excellent driver and terrific vehicle with massaging seats, really nice!

5.00We had an absolutely incredible experience in Shanghai thanks to our amazing guide, Freya. From the moment we met her, she was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive to every detail that mattered to us. The whole day felt relaxed and effortless. What we appreciated most was how flexible she was with our schedule—there was never any pressure to rush or follow a rigid plan. She genuinely cared about making the experience perfect for our family. Before we even arrived in Shanghai, the main coordinator was already in touch with us on WhatsApp, which was extremely helpful since our UK SIM allowed WhatsApp access in China. They stayed connected throughout, keeping everything updated and making sure we were always informed. That level of communication gave us great peace of mind. Freya took us to all the right places according to the itinerary and introduced us to some amazing local food, which made the experience even more memorable. Traveling with kids can be challenging, but she was fantastic with them—keeping them engaged with quizzes and thoughtful gifts. They felt very special and well looked after. One of the most impressive moments was when we decided at the last minute that we wanted to experience the Maglev train. Freya immediately rearranged everything, coordinated with the driver to take us to the station, and waited for us while we did the return journey from central Shanghai to the airport and back. After that, the tour continued smoothly as planned. Her organisation, kindness, and genuine enthusiasm made this one of the best guided experiences we’ve ever had. Freya went above and beyond to ensure our family was comfortable, entertained, and able to explore Shanghai exactly the way we wanted. If you’re visiting Shanghai, I highly recommend Freya and the whole team. They made our trip truly unforgettable.
