• Surprising visit to Fuji region

  We recently took a day trip to Mount Fuji booked through Viator organized by Live Nippon, and it was a fantastic experience despite the weather not fully cooperating. Our guide, Maz, was exceptional. He shared fascinating insights about the area, along with personal stories from his life in Japan as a foreigner, all in a very natural and unobtrusive way. Unfortunately, due to fog, we couldn’t see the summit or visit Station 5, but honestly, it didn’t take away from the trip. After spending days in the cities of Tokyo and Osaka, exploring the peaceful mountain villages was a refreshing change. Our guide also made a spontaneous change to the itinerary and took us to the Hakone Open-Air Museum—a total surprise and an absolute highlight of the day. It was the perfect ending to a well-paced, enriching tour. Highly recommend this experience!

  Highly Recommend Yasir advised that we start very early in the morning, and we are so glad that we heeded his advice to bypass traffic and crowds. Also, clouds covered Mount Fuji in the afternoon, so our morning pictures of the snow-capped mountain top were so precious. Having grown up in Japan, Yasir is extremely knowledgeable about Japanese culture and traditions. He spoke the best English of all the tour guides we have had during our travels throughout Asia. He provided a nice balance of some time to explore sites on our own within a structured agenda that had flexibility built into it. He took our desires into account in planning the schedule and navigated all the details of ticketing and parking and even helping us order from a Japanese menu. He knew the scenic spots and took pictures of us on his own phone and then airdropped them to us afterward (which was more convenient than constantly exchanging phones). We had a delightful (and streamlined, efficient) visit to Mount Fuji that we will always remember, thanks to Yasir. All the best, Susan

  My husband and I, and one other couple, spent an entire day with our driver/guide - Graham. He took us from Tokyo to Mt Fuji 5th Station where we didn’t get to see the top of the mountain until the sun cleared out a while later. Afterward, we went to see Lake Kawaguchiko, climbed up to the Chureito Pagoda, and after that, had a lovely traditional Japanese lunch at Hakumai Classic Japanese Restaurant just a short walk from the Pagoda. The food was excellent, the service and ambiance impeccable, and we left there very full. After that, we walked through the very quiet and not often visited Shokufuji Buddhist Monastery, drove and stopped for a shot of the mountain at Lake Saiko ( home of the Mystery fish, 🐟 the Kunimasu! ) and then headed back to Tokyo. During the long drive, Graham shared a wealth of knowledge about Japan and the Tokyo area as well as some insightful history. He was funny, a great storyteller, and a delight to spend time with. He even went quite above and beyond in the time he spent with us and out of his way to bring my husband his phone after we discovered it was missing and had been left in Grahams car. We all would highly recommend this tour and Graham in particular if you’re lucky enough to get him. Sherre P Seattle WA

  This was a great experience Zia our guide was very friendly knowledgeable and very flexible with what we wanted to do he made the day an enjoyable experience I would highly recommend him and this tour to anybody.

  The best choice for Mt Fuji viewing ! Boating in the lake with the gorgeous view of Mt Fuji is a must!
