This tour involves moderate walking on uneven natural terrain, including coastal paths and an optional shallow stream crossing at Gljúfrabúi. It is not recommended for guests with serious mobility limitations.
Strong coastal winds and ocean spray are common at several stops - appropriate clothing and footwear are essential.
Children of all ages are welcome - the tour is family-friendly.
Parents or guardians are responsible for the safety of children throughout the tour, particularly at coastal stops, cliff viewpoints, and at Reynisfjara beach.
This is one of Iceland's longest day touring routes. The full day typically runs 13-15 hours - plan accordingly.
Ocean waves at Reynisfjara can be sudden and powerful. Always stay behind the safety markers on the beach.
The path behind Seljalandsfoss may be closed in winter due to ice. Your guide will advise on the day.

Skogafoss
The first major highlight of the journey is Skogafoss Waterfall. This powerful waterfall drops from high cliffs that were once the coastline of Iceland thousands of years ago. As the water crashes down, mist rises into the air and often creates beautiful rainbows on sunny days. Visitors can walk close to the base of the waterfall or climb the stairs beside it for an incredible view from above.

5.00We had a fabulous private tour with driver Arkadiusz. Our tour day had to be rescheduled because of a storm. We had a great communication and the company worked with us to change our pick up location etc. with the change in date. We booked a private tour as we wanted the flexibility to not be "stuck" to a tour schedule, and because I knew I would be tired and likely sleep a portion of the trip. Our main goal was the Diamond Beach. The driver/guide was really flexible and we had as long as we wanted at the beach and then was happy to let us dictate how the rest of the day/drive back went. I suspect our requests were a bit unusual (we chose to go back slightly early which worked perfectly for us with the date change, and we had been to the south coast a couple of years before and seen a lot of the other 'normal' stops. We booked the private tour to have the flexibility to do what suited us and we got exactly what we wanted/needed.
