Your adventure begins in Reykjavik as you leave the city behind and travel along the famous south coast of Iceland. The scenery quickly changes from colorful houses and urban streets to open farmland, lava fields, and distant glaciers.
Skogafoss
The first major highlight of the journey is Skogafoss Waterfall. This powerful waterfall drops from high cliffs that were once the coastline of Iceland thousands of years ago. As the water crashes down, mist rises into the air and often creates beautiful rainbows on sunny days. Visitors can walk close to the base of the waterfall or climb the stairs beside it for an incredible view from above.

5.00We had a fabulous private tour with driver Arkadiusz. Our tour day had to be rescheduled because of a storm. We had a great communication and the company worked with us to change our pick up location etc. with the change in date. We booked a private tour as we wanted the flexibility to not be "stuck" to a tour schedule, and because I knew I would be tired and likely sleep a portion of the trip. Our main goal was the Diamond Beach. The driver/guide was really flexible and we had as long as we wanted at the beach and then was happy to let us dictate how the rest of the day/drive back went. I suspect our requests were a bit unusual (we chose to go back slightly early which worked perfectly for us with the date change, and we had been to the south coast a couple of years before and seen a lot of the other 'normal' stops. We booked the private tour to have the flexibility to do what suited us and we got exactly what we wanted/needed.
