This private circle-island experience is an immersive, educational tour led by enthusiastic, multilingual guides (English, French, Russian, German) some with 20+ years of guest care and storytelling. We don’t just show the sights—we explain them in engaging ways: Polynesian culture, island history, anthropology and the geology.
The pace is personal: we check in with each traveler, tailor timing, add extra photo stops, answer questions, and keep the mood informative yet fun.
Travel in a comfortable air-conditioned minivan and leave with great photos and real insight, not just snapshots.
Expect context for the places you’ll visit—waterfalls, black-sand beaches, marae, Mara’a Grotto, gardens, and scenic viewpoints. Language preference by request at booking (subject to availability).
A complimentary bottle of water is provided.
On certain days, we can be flexible with the pickup time. Please contact us if you’d like to request a different pickup time.

3.00We booked a private tour but ended up with a “substitute” guide who is French and does not understand English well and we have had little communications for the whole trip. We still loved the itinerary, the scenery and the culture exhibitions around the island. But with tour guide situation we cannot give high remarks. Also, the guide is not very forceful on timing so we missed the opportunity to see sunset at the Point Venus. We do not recommend private tool for this excursion.

5.00We booked a half day tour with Eric recently and we had an amazing time. He was really fond of sharing his passion and extensive knowledge of the island, its inhabitants, culture, plants and animals. Really keen to adapt to what we were expecting he answered all of our questions always with a touch of humour. I would 100% recommend booking this tour, especially with Eric !

5.00What an amazing day made possible by our guide Eric! We had my 89 yo mother who has mobility issues and he was so thoughtful to make sure that she was able to do a majority of the activities and including her when she wasn’t able to participate. Eric is very knowledgeable about the history, culture and botanicals. He made sure that we had amazing views including an unforgettable sunset on the beach. Highly recommend

5.00We absolutely loved our extensive tour around the island! Our tour guide, Edward, was extremely knowledgeable about the area and history of the island! The rainstorm made the waterfalls even more spectacular! We loved it! We highly recommend Edward and the tour!

5.00Max was great! He kept in touch through the multiple hours of delayed arrival due to a ship fire. He was right there when we were able to get off the ship and wisked us away to start our tour. Waterfalls and water gardens, feeding fish and eels, black sand beaches and surfers, all to commentary about the island and its history. He carefully accommodated my sister with mobility issues, providing a step stool to exit the van and a sturdy shoulder when walking. We had such a lovely time and learned so much!
Good experience overall but shame about the minibus.

4.00Eric was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and related to the group well. The minibus however was very uncomfortable for such a long trip. Difficult to enter and exit and seat belts wrongly set up and cut into neck.A good experience but lacking comfort.
The Tour That Didn't Happen...!

5.00This is the first five star review for a tour we couldn't take!!! Arriving by ship, we were delayed from entering the harbor by 5 hours due to a small engine issue. Natalie was very accommodating and communicated with us really well. Ultimately we collectively decided we needed to cancel the tour, almost an hour after the tour was scheduled to start. She immediately processed a full refund for us. This was excellent customer service!
I would love to come back!!!
