A four-day tour visiting Transylvania’s famous Landmarks! Hence, you will visit some of the largest cities of Romania, important cultural, historical and trade centers and 4 astonishing UNESCO World Heritage Sites!
Every year between July and October you will have the opportunity to enjoy driving on the famous Transfagarasan Road.

Day 1 - Bucharest to Brasov: Peles Castle, Bran Castle & Brasov

Overnight in a 3* hotel, centrally located in the old town of Brasov.
Peles Castle
The tour to Peles Castle and Brasov starts in Bucharest where your local guide will pick you up from your hotel. Next, you’ll leave the busy capital behind and head north towards the Carpathian Mountains. In approximately two hours you’ll arrive in Sinaia, a popular mountain resort and home to the beautiful Peles Castle. You will visit the gardens of the Royal residence and take a standard your to visit the interior of the Peles Castle.
Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle)
Your tour continues with a scenic drive through the mountains, along the famous Prahova Valley, reaching the Bran village, notorious for Bran Castle, also known as the Dracula Castle. Find out the history of the castle and the real story behind Dracula’s myth, attend to a guided tour of the Bran castle.
Brasov
Then, go for Brașov where you will take a walking tour with your guide to see how a typical Transylvanian old city looks like.
Day 2 - Brasov to Sighisoara: Viscri fortified church, Sighisoara walking tour

A traditional lunch will be served in Viscri.

On the way to Sighisoara, you will stop visiting Viscri Village one of the many Saxon Villages with a fortified church within Transylvania. Viscri is well known for its highly fortified church, originally built around 1100 AD, designated in 1993 as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Lunch will be served in Viscri
Sighisoara
The tour will continue to Sighișoara, the best-preserved medieval town in Romania. Like most of the cities of Transylvania, Sighișoara is also a city built by the Saxon colonists, but different from the others by the fact that it is the only currently inhabited citadel in Europe, and listed in the UNESCO World Heritage since 1999. Have a guided tour of the citadel and then enjoy the evening on your own.
Day 3 - Sighisoara to Sibiu: Biertan fortified church, Sibiu tour

Biertan Fortified Church
Visit one of the most important Saxon villages with fortified a church within Transylvania, Biertan is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1993.
Sibiu
Next you will head to Sibiu and take a walking tour of the old town. The old center has entered the competition for becoming a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004.
Day 4 - Sibiu to Bucharest: Drive across the Carpathian Mountains & return to Bucharest

Transfagarasan Highway
During the summer time (July-October) The road back to Bucharest will take you on the famous Transfagarasan Road. Along the way you will stop at several spots ideal for pictures and gorgeous scenery.
Curtea de Arges Monastery
During the summer time, when you will cross on the Transfagarasan Road, you will also visit Curtea de Arges Monastery. This is an architectural gem but also it represents the burial site for the Romanian Kings
Cozia Monastery
From November to July Transfagarasan Road is not accessible, thus we will drive on the Olt river gorge. A stop will be at Cozia Monastery, a beautiful architectural stop with an important role in the Romanian history.

5.00Amazing 4-Day Transylvania Tour – Highly Recommend! We had an incredible 4-day tour of Transylvania, visiting Bran Castle, Peles Castle, Sighișoara, Sibiu, and the breathtaking Carpathian Mountains. Driving the Transfăgărășan Road and seeing wild bears was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Our guide, Victor, was fantastic—super knowledgeable and friendly. All of our hotels were in the heart of the old towns, which made everything easily walkable and added to the charm. The tour was the perfect mix of history, nature, and culture. We’d recommend it to anyone visiting Romania!

5.00Sibiu was a lovely place, we also enjoyed the countryside and the towns of Sighhisoara and Brasov. The tour guide was brilliant and we leant a lot about Rumanian history

5.00It will be hard to find a better guide than Bogdan. Organized, responsible, punctual, polite, knowledgeable about everything related to his country, very attentive to the customers' needs and even reserving small surprises and attentions that make the days much more pleasant. A true Romanian friend, and a gentleman! As for the trip itself, there are no words to describe the beauty of a Romania whose authenticity of people and places has not yet been greatly affected by mass tourism, you have to experience them on the spot. Very well chosen hotels and restaurants, with typical food and even experiencing a meal at a family home. A very comfortable trip in a van, with exemplary driving, never rushing the schedules, giving customers time to enjoy every moment at a slow pace and with a route carefully chosen in order to avoid traffic jams as much as possible. It was a trip with friends where we found one more! Thank you Bogdan for an unforgettable experience. We hope to return for another trip.

5.00Wonderful this trip, with an excellent balance between natural landscapes and historic monuments. Total experience, history, gastronomy, landscapes and everyday life. Totally surprised by this country so authentic, with so much heritage (historical and natural) that preserves its traditions. with the exception of some of the most well-known monuments, there is no mass tourism which is a great quality.

5.00This was absolutely the the best tour of both the city of Bucharest and the Transylvania region of Central Romania. Our personal guide, Nick Zavada was THE MOST knowledgeable and historically informed tour guide we have ever encountered. We would highly recommend to anyone having 5 days to get an in-depth understanding of the country’s history and culture as well as an intimate relationship with the people, this is your tour. We shared a wonderful meal with a family in their rural farmhouse village of Viscri and stayed in beautiful B&Bs located in the historical districts of several Transylvania cities. You’ll LOVE this tour!!

His company exceeded our expectations. They even picked us up at the airport a few days before the tour started to facilitate a smooth arrival into Bucharest. 5.00We loved our 4-day Transylvania tour from BookToursRomania with our driver/guide Gelu! We were 2 couples, all active North American seniors and experienced travellers. Gelu spoke impeccable English, was incredible knowledgeable and courteous, and a good driver. We had a new clean mini van. All 3 hotels were very good, in safe central locations well situated for after-tour walks, each different in style, all clean and quiet with good breakfasts and wifi. The itinerary was great for an introduction to Transylvania. Highlights for us included Peles Castle, the Saxon villages and fortified churches, and the Transfagarasan Road. Another highlight was visiting an old Saxon house owned by now King Charles of Britain in the village of Viscri. No complaints or criticisms.
