Perhaps the weather had a lot to do with it as it wasn’t a nice day at all, however we never spent nearly the amount of time at each spot as suggested in the itinerary which was a shame as the towns were lovely but we were only given minimum amounts of time in each as we were either always waiting for the ferry and missing one forcing us to take another train and more waiting or felt very rushed except for the lunch where we were only there for about 30-45 minutes at best. Our tour guide did offer a gelato or a wine tasting because we didn’t get to explore anything but that kind of never happened and before we knew it we were heading back on the train to La Spezia? We told him he could leave us and we’d find our way back to ship so we didn’t have to rush back since our ship was overnight and we were not pressed for time at all. All in all very very expensive for what we received and very disappointing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Cinque Terra and would have not experienced all that was on offer without our guide Matteo. He was a pleasure to be with and shared his passionate knowledge of this area.

The day prior to the experience, the tour operator reached out to me via WhatsApp and messaging to let us know that they had to unfortunately cancel the tour due to extremely high winds and severe thunderstorms forecast for the following day. We truly appreciated the effort they made to contact me and the prompt refund that I received. Thank you!

Sonia was terrific! Very engaging, made sure we saw everything we wanted to see, and she was full of so much good knowledge. She really made the day! She even stayed at the end to make sure we got on the correct train home :) Would highly recommend this tour.

We had an awesome day with our superb tour guide, Andrea. He was wonderful in sharing the knowledge and history of the cities. He navigated our train stops to make the most of our time at each stop. We appreciated his restaurant recommendation and connection so there was no waiting upon our arrival. He was absolutely the best and I’d recommend this tour and request Andrea if possible. You will love your time exploring this majestic area.

Beautiful and so worth the cost!!! Personalized according to our tastes. It’s too fun to have a professional and friendly guided like Andrea. Andrea knows all the little corners to see and guides us without worry through public transport, taxi, train and boat. It was a memorable day!!!!! Thank you Andrea!!!! Hope to see you again!!! Nancy

We took a private Cinque Terre tour and the experience could not have been better. The destination was spectacular and our guide was exceptional. The tour operator did an excellent job communicating with us prior to the start of the tour so we knew exactly what to expect. Our guide took care of everything so all we had to do was enjoy.

We booked this private tour hoping for a flexible and enjoyable experience, but it ended up being the worst excursion of our trip. When we arrived at the cruise port, our guide was waiting. We immediately explained that someone in our group had a serious mobility issue and was wearing a medical knee brace. Despite this, he had us walk over a mile to the metro station. Once we reached Riomaggiore, he led us on steep hikes and endless stairs—completely disregarding what we told him. I mentioned multiple times that our group would be perfectly happy enjoying cocktails with a view instead of hiking, but it was clear he had his own agenda. Even when I asked again for a break, he pushed us to keep going, finally stopping at a small café with no air conditioning. Later, we had to wait in a long public ferry line and then crowded onto a boat to Vernazza. From there, we walked up a street just to catch another train to Manarola. Throughout the day, the guide constantly walked far ahead of us, only occasionally turning back. There was no effort to accommodate our pace or our requests. For lunch, he suggested a pizza place swarming with flies. When we declined, he took us to an upscale seafood restaurant where the cheapest dish was €28—not exactly the flexible, personalized experience promised. Overall, this private tour was absolutely not worth the $1,061 we paid. We felt ignored, rushed, and completely disappointed. You’d be much better off exploring Cinque Terre on your own using the hop-on hop-off ferries and trains, which are easy to access from the port. I cannot recommend this tour. Save your money and plan it yourself—you’ll enjoy it far more.

You will be doing a lot of walking and stairs. If you have mobility issues, let your guide know. We we paired with a skie instructor and had a hardtime keeping pace.
