You will visit the Selecto tequila factory, one of the few remaining artisanal and industrial tequila factories, with a guided tour and tasting of tequila, liquors and creams that are made inside the distilleries. You will also be able to visit the agave fields and have a great time.
Tequila Fortaleza
Embark on a fascinating guided tour of the La Fortaleza distillery, where you will learn about the entire tequila production process. During the tour, you will see the brick ovens where the agave is cooked, the mills where the piñas are crushed, and the fermentation vats where the juice is turned into must. As you progress, you will discover the copper stills in which the must is distilled into tequila, while the different stages of distillation are explained. The visit culminates in the bottling area, where you will learn how tequila is labeled and bottled. 5.00This tour is an enjoyable mix of history and process. It is not a get drunk and be obnoxious tour. If you want to really learn about how an excellent tequila is made, then I highly recommend this tour. I had just finished reading the book Tequila Wars, so it was very interesting to visit a true Sauza distillery and to see the town of Tequila. It was so impressive to watch tequila being made in a traditional manner. We also stopped in at Tres Mujeres distillery which was enjoyable as well. Definitely eat a hearty breakfast in the morning before the tour so you are ready to savour the tequila. Eduardo, our guide, was excellent, knowledgeable and a great driver.

5.00Amazing experience. Staff was friendly and helpful. The establishment is beautiful and it was an experience we will never forget. I enjoyed tequila tasting inside the cave and seeing the authentic process of making tequila. Definitely a place you must visit if you are in the area.

5.00Our driver/guide, Jesus, picked us up at our hotel for a fun day exploring the area where tequila is produced. Car was immaculate and comfortable and Jesus explained things of interest as he expertly dealt with Guadalajara traffic. The highlight of the trip was a visit to the La Fortaleza Distillery. Amazing!! One member of our party has some mobility issues. While these tours are not designed for these types of challenges—Jesus made sure that everyone could enjoy the day. The visit to Tequila town was complete with cazuelitas, street performers, strolling the shops and seeing the church The day was at our pace and based on our interests!! Highly Recommended!!!
