Until 2013, they held Christmas lighting events so North Koreans could watch from their side. North Korea often threatened to destroy the tower. Now, it is known as the "most dangerous Starbucks in the world," and visitors can also observe North Korean villagers’ daily lives using binoculars. 5.00This was the best tour I have taken in South Korea. Jun, the guide, was exceptionally knowledgeable and took the time to allow me to stay longer at sites I liked. As our day progressed Jun added on activities to expand the experience. We arrived at the DMZ too early to enter so we ended up going to a tea museum and nature area which was a really great way to fill our time versus sitting in the car in the parking lot. I would most definitely use Jiun as my guide on future tours.
