We went with Edi and it was such an amazing experience. He was so lovely and had so much information about the volcano and everything else, you could tell he truly loves doing the tour. The hike up was awesome, but obviously boarding down was even better - finished off with an amazing sunset. Was the perfect way to end our epic trip in Central America!

Alex was the best! He was prompt to pick us up and offered up a lot of information about the area. The hike up was tough but Alex didn’t rush us. I got pretty scared to go down the volcano but his calm demeanor and rational talk got me through. It was an amazing experience with a top notch guide. Highly recommend Alex from Leontrekkers.

We did three outings with Alex. Cerro Negro, Telica and Momotombo. We had three great days. He explained everything with great joy and always with a smile. We slept next to the Momotombo and made us a delicious dinner. We can recommend any excursion with Alex 100%.

We toured Cerro Negro with Leontrekkers Nicaragua as a couple and it was one of the best experiences of our visit to León. From the beginning, everything was very well organized. The transport was punctual and comfortable, and the guides super friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the area and the volcano. The hike to the top was an exciting but manageable challenge, and the views from above are totally worth the effort. Sandboarding on the slopes of the volcano was a pure adrenaline — a unique experience not to be missed!

We, a family with two kids aged 6 and 11, did the volcano boarding at Cerro Negro and Telica sunset hike in one day. We had a lovely day with Alex, he was very patient and kind and knowledgable. You sense that he loves what he does. Both the hikes were fairly easy and absolutely doable with small kids. The dinner Alex organised at a local family afterwards was delicious. Dont hesitate to book with him for a memorable day!

We did a tour to Cerro Negro and everything was very well organized. We had private transportation, good equipment for the activity. Cerro Negro is a very interesting experience if you’re in León. What made it special was that with Leontrekkers and Alex, we found someone who does the tour with children as well. The kids loved it and had so much fun!

With my friends we did volcano boarding and telica sunset with Alex. I recommend 100% doing this tour with him, he has experience, knows the routes, is friendly and patient. I was very nervous about doing the volcano boarding but Alex gave us all the directions and was watching us at all times. He also took some wonderful photos to record incredible memories and landscapes!! Very grateful and happy to have lived this experience in Nicaragua ❤️

Amazing experience! We chose Leon trekkers as we were recommended through another local in Leon and we were so glad that we did! Alex was amazing throughout the whole process of booking giving us clear instructions of what we need and came to pick us up right outside our accommodation. We were driven to both locations for the volcano boarding and Telica volcano sunset hike with information about the volcanoes that were visible along the journey and local wildlife that we could see. Throughout both experiences Alex captured amazing pictures and videos of our small group that were then sent to us shortly after the trip giving us memories to last a lifetime. With Alex growing up in a village local to Telica he was able to provide us with a lot of information about the volcano, the local area and weather. Couldn’t recommend this tour company more, truly amazing experience!
