Besides, you will be in our waist-deep, warm, blue ocean water and get the true island vibes with our team. Since we have been around for a long time, you will find that it's all about wind & water for us and that Aruba is the ultimate destination to get your windsurfing powers up! Once you get to know this part of Aruba, the sports and us, you will completely understand why we live on this island! And we'd like to let you enjoy it and relax!

When you arrive at our school, the first thing you should do is take out your flipflops and everything that is heavy and warm! We will welcome you happily and make sure you fill in the necessary papers, put away your luggage (in lockers) and get ready for the lesson! You will get watershoes and a life jacket if you need it. First, we will give you a short explanation & demonstration on the beach about the wind, the sail, the boom, the mast and your board. Then we will start with small practices. We teach and let you practice at the same time so your sessions will be short to make sure you get all the basics in! You will learn how to hold your sail, how to place your feet and hands, and how to tag. We combine theory with practice, as the wind will let you feel how to manipulate your direction through steering! The second hour of your lesson, you practice by yourself under our supervision. If you need some help, we are there, but you will love that time for yourself to practice all you learnt! When you are finished, you can tell us about your experience while you peace out on the beach! This is a private lesson for 1 or 2 persons max, so that couples can go together.

5.00I would definitely recommend this experience! My instructor was friendly and patient, and was very understanding when I realized that windsurfing was just not going to be something that I was going to be good at. I had booked an early appointment slot and the part of the beach they are located on was not busy at all at that time. The instructors here will definitely make sure that you are safe and have lots of fun at the same time.

2.00Shamar was teaching us extremely quick and seemed like he had an attitude. We learned more without his help when he left us for an hour. Also they almost scammed us out the entire excursion by saying they already came to pick us up at “315” when it CLEARLY says 330. Then they try to say “ohh the lesson starts at 330” ……. And it does not say that anywhere on the app. If you want ppl to be ready at 315 then maybe put that information on there.

5.00My husband had an amazing time learning to kitesurf in Aruba thanks to Gavin! He’s not only incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, but also super encouraging and easy to learn from. His step-by-step instruction and upbeat attitude made every session fun and productive. By the second lesson, my husband was able to put everything together, hop on the board, and ride!!!! Such a thrilling moment. That progress truly came down to Gavin’s clear guidance and expert coaching. If you’re thinking about trying kitesurfing while in Aruba, look no further. Gavin is simply the best!

4.00I had a good time learning to windsurf (note: read as trying to windsurf). I appreciated that water shoes were included - this was not something I had thought to pack. The only drawback of the experience was how crowded the area was with people wind surfing/kite surfing/ect. It was difficult to stay within the small area requested and stay away from people who were learning to kite surf.

5.00It was a great experience, we had a lot of fun. Our instructor, Louis, was very patient and professional ensuring we as beginners did not go too far out and showed us how to dismount the boards for less possibility of injury, which came in handy. We had a fabulous time!

5.00We took lessons with Aruba Active Vacations over four days. We didn't come to Aruba planning to spend four days doing one thing but each day we just wanted to sign up for the next. They're a really professional outfit-the office staff, instructors and management. We are very experienced with water sports and I can tell you kite surfing cannot be learned in 2 hours. We all want to jump right on the board and shred but it just doesn't work that way. The first lesson has to be kite control; that is a big challenge by itself. By the end of the first lesson you are in the water. But, this group makes each step fun, even the basic stuff that has to be done on shore (it starts on shore with any kite surfing school). Their facility is comfortable and a nice place to be on the beach while your family member(s) are on the water. We highly recommend Aruba Active Vacations!
