  Bobs special tours - booked a day trip to Hallstatt from Salzburg. We met our guide ‘Elvis’ who became our best friend for the day. A lovely human who drove us to Hallstatt, explained the history of the area and left us with plenty of time to tour on our own. When we asked him to pick us up later then planned it was not an issue. Our day was enjoyable, Hallstatt is a wonderful small boutique village with so much natural beauty - I am glad we visited in winter when the crowds were low. The day was made special by the wonderful service from Elvis and Bobs special tour. Thank you Elvis!

  Tour was great giving us ample time to see all of Hallstatt and Francesca was very friendly and welcoming guide. Highly recommend!

  Wonderful destination and our guide/driver, Fritz was phenomenal! Such a picturesque village~ took boat ride on lake and had wonderful lunch!

  Our tour guide, Francesca was very friendly and provided great guidance on things to do and places to eat. The car ride was very comfortable.

  Hallstatt is beautiful, and it's definitely worth visiting. We had the best dessert of our lives there - the habsburger. It's a round pastry (probably baked in a muffin pan) filled with warm, vanilla custard and topped with fresh fruit and powdered sugar. Absolutely divine!! I'm giving a 4-star rating vs a 5 because this trip was a bit expensive per person, and you're basically just being driven to Hallstatt and dropped off/picked up. We felt the cost was pretty high for a 1.5-hour ride from Salzburg.

  Our guide Elvis did a great job! We enjoyed seeing the Sound of Music sites to and from Hallstat. The drive from Salzburg to Hallstätt was beautiful. Hallstatt is spectacularly beautiful! It was raining when we were dropped off, so Elvis picked us up a little early and we stopped for a coffee and dessert. His flexibility was appreciated. Seeing the glacial lakes in the way back was fun! We learned alot and would highly recommend this tour with Bob’s Tours!

  We enjoyed the outing, and our guide was full of interesting information about the area and life in Austria. The scenery is fantastic. Most members of our tour opted to add the salt mine visit. I feel guests should be better advised that visiting the mines requires a lot of walking at altitude including uphill grades and extensive stair climbing. Two people in our group became overcome and had to turn back. You need to be moderately fit and not claustrophobic.

  I was surprised that it turn out to be a private tour just for the 2 of us. The guide, Francisca provided us with an informative guide along the way on the history of Salzburg and she is extremely professional with her guiding service. I am impressed that we were chauffeured using a Mercedes Benz car for the tour. I would highly recommend for anyone to book for this tour to Hallstatt instead of using public transport or via self-drive.
