  If you are looking for an incredible day in the Dominican Republic, look no further than Barney. While cruise ships often caution against using local guides, I can assure you that my family of five felt completely safe and well cared for from the moment we stepped off the ship. Barney’s pricing is very competitive and offers a massive savings compared to the standard ship excursions, but the quality of the tour is what truly stands out. From the very beginning, the communication was excellent, and we were met with a warm welcome from Barney’s wonderful daughter. Barney then promptly picked us up in a spacious, spotlessly clean van with refreshing air conditioning, water, and cola. A major highlight of our day was visiting the monkeys which we all enjoyed but it was the highlight of the day for my 8 year old daughter. Throughout our five hours together, it was clear that Barney is a man who is deeply respected by the locals and genuinely cares about providing his guests with a perfect day. He and his daughter stayed right with us the entire time, even going as far as carrying our backpacks and constantly ensuring we were comfortable. As an added bonus, Barney and his daughter took pictures of me and my family throughout the entire day and sent them to me later, which allowed us to just enjoy the experience without worrying about our phones. We never once felt pressured or unsafe, which made the day feel relaxed and authentic. Barney is a great guy with a wealth of knowledge about the area and culture. We will absolutely be seeing him again the next time we are in the Dominican Republic, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional and memorable tour. I'm a normal Dad that did some homework to provide my family a great day, there isn't a need to look further.

  My husband and I planned to see Puerto Plata during a cruise port day. I had seen this company mentioned in other cruise groups, so I reached out to Barney via WhatsApp. He was very quick to respond, had some great tour ideas, and stayed in contact up until our arrival date. The day of our scheduled private tour, Barney arrived early to our meeting point, messaged back and forth with me so we could easily find him, and gave us a GREAT time. We felt safe and comfortable the entire time. Barney seemed to know everyone and was able to get us in places he knew, including a delicious lunch on a gorgeous beach. Barney brought his daughter, who is learning the job, and that made our tour even better. It was a lot of fun! We saw the sights, made the stops that we wanted, and were back at the ship with time to spare. Shortly after we boarded, I received a bunch of photos and videos of us, which was much appreciated and a special touch. I highly recommend Barney and his team for a good time seeing Puerto Plata. We plan to return next year and tour with Barney or his delightful daughter again; they’ve got lots of fun ideas, so we can use them every time we are there.. Book him quickly. You will be glad you did!

  Stopped in Amber cove on a cruise. Was a great day visiting the monkeys and touring down town. Great lunch stop and having a private tour was a huge advantage.

  This is a must do. This company is legit and so much better than the ships excursions. You get to see a lot more and where the locals live. The monkeys was amazing. The atvs was awesome and loved going to Puerto plata. This company truly cares about a great experience.
