Hogsfjorden
To reach Pulpit Rock, we travel by boat through Høgsfjorden and Lysefjorden, passing islands and dramatic landscapes. The trip takes about 1 hour one way, with the option to slow down, stop, or explore along the way. You’ll see towering cliffs—some over 1000 meters high—rising straight from the fjord like massive stone walls.

The meeting point is not well defined and information is scarce and bad. The patron, however, is professional and pleasant in all his explanations. The title of the tour that includes the word “luxury” is somewhat fanciful.

Booked through Trip Advisor Viator for 12pm 1st Oct. cruise to Lysefjord. Trip was canceled by operator Stavanger tours due to weather conditions. We were then walking along the pier of Stavanger, and saw cruises selling tickets to Lysefjord. Bought 2 tickets about half the Trip Advisor /Viator price (150 Euro for 2 vs. 308 USD. Beautiful weather, breeze along the way, and no wind or waives in the Lysefjord. We had a wonderful trip at half the cost. Thanks to Stavanger tours cancellation.

If it’s not a good weather day, the ride would not be pleasant. Traffic on the water could be challenging at times. Be prepared to go for a possible walk.

Had a wonderful day out on the boat with Dag! He was very accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly, offering information about the surrounding areas and their history. We had a great time wakeboarding as well!

This wasn’t a big commercial tour, it was a small personal tour. Dag did a great job showing us the sights, he is very outgoing and personable. I would recommend his tour to anyone.

Really a wonderful and above expectations experience! Nothing comparable to what you can buy from the cruise company. With a nice, open and careful guide to make this tour memorable! Thank you Dag! And keep up with your good work!

Beautiful discovery of the lysefjord with Dag who knew how to listen (we were a family of 4 with two children 5 and 8 years old) and good advice. We were able to drive the boat (even the children), fish, admire the remarkable places (waterfalls, preikestolen ....). Definitely my best memory of our holiday in Norway. I recommend +++++

Dag was a tremendous host and guide for the area. We came off a cruise ship and he offered multiple pick-up locations to make it easy for us. He educated us on the area, was friendly and easy to spend time with, and offered the opportunity for sightseeing, fishing, swimming and even wakeboarding. I would highly recommend for a family or small group.

Dag met us on time. He is friendly and informative. Willing to discuss his local knowledge. This trip was not as fast as the ribs but not as slow as the larger boats. A nice intermit group as there was just our family group of 4. The weather was fantastic, the wind had picked up on the way back making it a lot more bumpy and wet, if you wish to sit outside. Outside it is compulsory to wear a life vest. When we arrived the boat arrangements had changed due to original one being in for maintenance but this didn't take it away from the tour. We saw gypsy cave, pulpit rock, whisky waterfall, visited a local farm with young lambs (a our time of year) and a local village with a supermarket, if you require anything. We were offered to be able to try our hand at fish, as well. All of this made our tour very special and different from the others available. Thank you Anita, Karl, Jean and Roy
