You've heard of Wawel Castle. You've probably heard of its kings, its dragon, its centuries of royal glory. But what about the women who shaped it — and who shaped Poland itself?
On this 2-hour small-group walking tour, your storyteller guide will bring to life the queens, saints, artists, and Nobel Prize winners whose extraordinary stories have been hiding in plain sight. From the powerful medieval queen Jadwiga, who chose her kingdom over her heart, to the mysterious Lady with an Ermine — and from the royal intrigues of Bona Sforza to the brilliance of Marie Curie and Wisława Szymborska — this is the Poland nobody tells you about.
Our original Herstory storytelling concept weaves together medieval history, art history, and modern women's achievements into one unforgettable walk through Wawel Hill. Perfect for curious travelers, history lovers, and anyone who believes that half of history has been left untold.

Meet your guide at the ancient Zbruch Idol at the foot of Wawel Hill. As the castle looms above you, hear why this sacred hill was always a place where power — and women's courage — converged. Your guide sets the stage: what does it mean to look at a royal fortress through the eyes of its queens?
On your way to Wawel, admire the picturesque Kraków Old Town.

Wow! What an experience! I met the lovely Karolina, my guide , who was not only knowledgeable but such a lovely person to spend a couple of hours with. My knowledge of Polish history and Krakow was sketchy at best, but I have learnt so much. Her local knowledge and enthusiasm for sharing her city with strangers is infectious. She made history come alive for me. Not only was the tour awesome, she also helped me onto next activity. I cannot recommend Karolina and her tour highly enough and feel privileged to have learnt from the best! By the way, you don't have to be female to enjoy this tour. As most wise people know, behind every successful man is an amazing woman. The kings of Krakow were hugely influenced by their young but clever wives! Without them this city would not be as amazing as it is! Thank you Karolina. 🙏🙏
