It was well organized. The Sami talk was very informative. The Reindeer sledding was really fun and it was very surreal for us because the Northern lights were out during our ride. The only issue was the toilets and that is not the fault of the tour company or the location. It is from disgusting people that pee all over the toilet and floor so a woman cannot possibly use them without cleaning up the area first.

It's an absolute must. We loved meeting the Sami and learning about their unique culture and history. I wish there was more time to learn more, however, it certainly gave us the motivation to do our own research following the trip. I travelled with 2 young children and they loved meeting the Reindeer and feeding the. As well as the sledding! Wonderful experience!

This was a wonderful experience. A little tricky getting to pickup point downtown from the cruise terminal, but with proper planning it works out well. Fortunately our cruise line ran shuttles downtown and the drop off is right where the tour picks you up. Our cruises shuttle service ended earlier than our return to pickup point so we had to make arrangements via UBer. It cost about $25 US and 10 minutes travel time. It is a 50 minute ride to the Sami village and they are very good in directing you to where you need to be. The tour consists of to parts. Feeding the reindeer and the ride on the reindeer sliegh. Both are very exciting to do. It was snowing during our entire trip so seeing the northern lights was not a option. The sligh ride was so much fun. The guide was very good and quite funny. He sang a old Sami traditional song while we were out. It was very good. I would recommend recording this ride with your phone on night mode to catch his song. Feeding the reindeer was fun as well however since this was the second part of our visit the deer were almost full from the first groups feeding. So when you arrive you must decide which one is most important to you and go with first. The deer are very gentle and the Sami guide does a very good jo in preparing you for the visit with the deer. When we finished both events we inside and had a traditional Sami meal. They served a traditional Sami reindeer stew or a vegan vegetsble soup. We chose the vegan, we just couldn’t do reindeer. The people at our table did enjoy the reindeer stew. They also served bread, water, hot teas and coffee. We enjoyed the meal. Afterwards our guide spent about an hour talking about the Sami people and their traditions. Our all it was a 10/10 experience.

We had the best experience here. The reindeer sledding and feeding was amazing as was the food and drinks we had. The Sami host was so knowledgeable and interesting. Would advise anyone to try this trip. It was amazing.

PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR WITH SLEIGH! We had probably the worst experience for the animals. Starting with feeding and petting the animals, which was perfectly nice and fine, followed by the sleigh ride, where an animal HAS BEEN INJURED AND BLEEDING! The reindeer are tied to the sleds one after the other, with us there were easily 15 sleds and reindeer. The animals have a harness around, but also some ropes that are much too thin. At the beginning we drove very slowly and everything was fine. However, some of them also ran and suddenly it went downhill. The reindeer next to us (which pulled the rear sled) got caught in the ropes and the leg/armpit was tied off. While it went downhill quite quickly, it happened, the little and youngest reindeer in front of us got the solid horse mackerel, which should prevent the sled from sliding into the reindeer, rammed several times in the side and in the neck. The stick seemed stuck and the reindeer panicked and then fell down. It was sanded several meters along and the sled drove a bit over the reindeer. The guide reacted far too late and was also far too far ahead to see what happened at the back. When we finally stopped at some point, the guide came and freed the reindeer, which of course had to pull the sled further. In the meantime, the reindeer next to us had completely and also panicked caught on the ropes. She put her head down on my legs and looked at me with big, desperate eyes. When I pointed out to the guide that this reindeer was not doing well either, he just said silly “it’s okay”. After we had not let go, he came to us annoyed and then saw that it had completely caught on the ropes. He liberated it with the annoyed words “you put yourself in the situation.” The sleigh ride continued and the reindeer, who had fallen and injured himself before, panicked again and again and jumped up several times in panic during the ride and threatened to jump on the front sled. When the ride was finally over, BLOOD was seen on the reindeer, which had fallen before and been injured by the horse mackerel. Everyone was worried and approached the guide, who only said that he knew his reindeer and that it did not hurt them. This was the worst experience I have ever had with animals and I deeply regret booking this tour! I appeal to everyone not to book this tour. Species and animal welfare is something else. There are certainly many good other small tours that are not overrun by mass tourism and where the animals are doing really well!

The bus ride was pleasant with beautiful views. To experience the reindeer up close is undeniably an experience. That the sleigh ride was cancelled was communicated in advance and thus okay. There was no background information about the Sami at all, because suddenly it was said that we had to stop now. The electricity was just irregular and that was too uncertain. Aha, okay... Even on the bus ride (at least over an hour) no information came after....a pity, as this tour advertises insights into Sami culture and these were our main concern. Why can't the organizer bring this information? The departure took place within 5 minutes and you were literally ripped out. The food was perfectly okay, but we didn't go for that:)

The guide welcomed us, and made us laugh. We were able to observe beautiful aurora borealis. The meal was very good and typically Sami. Feeding the reindeer and sledging allowed us to be closer to the animals.

This was a lovely trip out of Tromso, was really special feeding the reindeers. The male leading the sleigh was very passionate about promoting how the Sami people live and this is protecting nature. There's a chance to see the Northern lights because of less light pollution we did see weak Norther light display which disappeared fairly quickly. Was very interesting to hear more about Sami ways from a younger female perspective. Reindeer stew was nice too, felt welcomed
