The Sámi experience was very interesting, and we really enjoyed learning about their culture and history. The hosts were lovely, genuinely caring about our experience, and the scenery around the farm was breathtaking, with stunning views of the mountains. My kids especially loved feeding the reindeer and had a great time roasting marshmallows, which they actually enjoyed more than the soup. However, the overall experience had some major disappointments. The tour was advertised as including a 15-minute reindeer sled ride, but in reality, it lasted less than two minutes—which was a huge letdown considering we paid over £500 for this trip. When we raised this with the hosts, they explained that they never agreed to offer 15-minute rides and that Viator had misrepresented the experience. This felt very misleading. Additionally, while the history was fascinating, the talk was quite long for young children to sit through. If you’re primarily interested in Sámi culture, it’s a worthwhile visit, but if you’re expecting a proper reindeer sledding experience, this is not worth the money. I have requested compensation from Viator, but they are refusing unless the tour operator agrees, even though the fault lies with Viator’s misleading description, not the farm. Very disappointing customer service on Viator’s part.

Pros Before Excursion: Bus on time, pickup location easy to find, one stop for pics before arriving at location Pros arrival: Friendly, thermal suits if needed, lots of explanations Pros during: We loved feeding the reindeer, doing the sledding, and listening to information about Sami culture while eating soup. Plentiful hot chocolate. Afterwards: Friendly driver. Easy dropoff.

  • Slow activity without...

Slow activity without much rhythm. Nothing much happens. We feed the reindeers for a long time, go for a 5 minutes sledge tour without clear instructions, there is a lot of down time. People at the farm are very nice.

  • Way overpriced and the sleigh ride was only 2 1/2 minutes

It was more than an hour away from Tromso so long ride in a nice bus , there were 28 of us …. Petting and feeding the reindeer was amazing but DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY ON THIS TRIP if you think you will get to have a slade ride…. They advertise 15 minutes and it was actually only literally 2 1/2 minute ride!!!! Other tours that are not offering a Slade ride are literally $50 cheaper than this one… And it was definitely not worth the money! Make sure to bring snacks because you will be gone for six hours and the lunch was only a very small, very watery bowl of Potatoes, carrots, and an itsy bit of reindeer meat! The presentation of the Sami People iand their culture was very nice and interesting! All in all, I would not take this tour again because of the long ride and the Super high price
