  Me and my wife went on this experience and felt very looked after from being picked up to transported to the family home of the reindeer herder. This is very much a family business. We were sledded and snowmobiled into the site which does have permanent buildings but also has two handmade Sami structures. The entire time we were there we had full access to as much tea coffee and hot chocolate as we wanted. We were also fed with reindeer stew and asked if we wanted seconds which I did there was also a vegetarian version the owner called Nils he is very knowledgeable and told us stories and information about the Sami people. Overall we had a really good experience the weather when we went was very snowy everyone was given a kilogram of reindeer food to feed the reindeer. That was plenty of opportunity to have pictures. This experience was definitely in my opinion worth the money.

  Absolutely loved it! The people were so nice and welcoming, you get to meet the reindeer and feed them and play with them. I loved hearing more about the Sami culture and tasting local food.

  The experience was absolutely lovely. The staff were very kind and accommodating at the Sami camp . I visited with my husband and 10month old, they assisted me with space to nurse her and were very considerate. The actual tour was very good, we got some great shots with the reindeers and learnt a lot about Sami culture.

  The reindeer were very friendly and cute, plenty to interact with and feed. The hosts were kind and welcoming. The alternative to a sled ride was a ride on a snowmobile, since the snow conditions made it too difficult for the reindeer to pull the sled. The hosts provided an interesting talk about the Sami culture and presented artifacts as well. The informality of the visit was casual and comfortable. I would have liked to learn more about reindeer farming and its role in Norwegian agriculture, as well. It is an hour and a half drive, each way, and you are on your own. A brochure of reindeer and Sami general knowledge would do well here.

  Verry good activities! And the people Sami we were with were so nice :) Meal was really good too But it’s quite too much expensive for the time in sledging comparing to other compagnie which proposed more time but for same price…

  We had the time of our life out there. Such friendly animals, such friendly sami-people. Good food, interessting informations about the sami culture.

  Nice experience with Sami tribes about their culture , traditions n way of living . Vegan soup was welcoming and we had roasted marshmallows . The reindeer are extremely docile and friendly . Worth visiting .

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

• Misleading advertising - not worth the high price

  The Sámi experience was very interesting, and we really enjoyed learning about their culture and history. The hosts were lovely, genuinely caring about our experience, and the scenery around the farm was breathtaking, with stunning views of the mountains. My kids especially loved feeding the reindeer and had a great time roasting marshmallows, which they actually enjoyed more than the soup. However, the overall experience had some major disappointments. The tour was advertised as including a 15-minute reindeer sled ride, but in reality, it lasted less than two minutes—which was a huge letdown considering we paid over £500 for this trip. When we raised this with the hosts, they explained that they never agreed to offer 15-minute rides and that Viator had misrepresented the experience. This felt very misleading. Additionally, while the history was fascinating, the talk was quite long for young children to sit through. If you’re primarily interested in Sámi culture, it’s a worthwhile visit, but if you’re expecting a proper reindeer sledding experience, this is not worth the money. I have requested compensation from Viator, but they are refusing unless the tour operator agrees, even though the fault lies with Viator’s misleading description, not the farm. Very disappointing customer service on Viator’s part.
