With our selection of local foodie treats you can check off a lot of things on your Icelandic food bucket list and you sure won't be disappointed with the quality of the restaurants we handpicked. The only "bad" thing on this tour is the fermented shark but hey, its an adventure and what does not kill you makes you stronger and cooler back home.
One of the best things about doing a food tour is getting a sense of the history of the country while eating something delicious & interesting. All of our guides are experts and graduates from the tour guide school of Iceland but more importantly, they know how to entertain and educate at the same time.
Our stops are handpicked and offer traditional Icelandic food and ending at our last stop you are served a drink of choice!

We meet up at Ingolfur Square to start our foodie adventure. Please be at the square 5 minutes before the start of your tour.
We start off down by the old Reykjavik harbor with a great appetizer: An Icelandic shellfish soup. You really should try out Icelandic seafood while in Iceland.

5.00Instead of the usual stop at 5 or 6 quick spots (like food trucks or take out windows), this food tour was more leisurely and relaxed (sit down at 4-5 different locations) .... more time to enjoy the food and listen to our excellent guide. A good selection of Iceland cuisine (hot dogs, herring, grilled cheese sandwich, marinated shark and more). Our group ranged in age from 4 to 75 with our 10-year-old grandson rating it as one of his top Iceland adventures.

4.00This tour is a great insight into Icelandic food but portions are small and did not leave the tour feeling completely full which for the high price point I would have expected.

4.00We had a great afternoon with Einar who kept us entertained and informed while we eat some delicious food and toured Reykjavík. Would recommend this tour and encourage everyone to try the fermented shark which is an experience! Come hungry as the portions at each stop are more than just tasters.

5.00We did a food tour in Reykjavík with Einar and had such a wonderful experience! He is so passionate about his city, and has great knowledge of its history. His personal anecdotes made the tour and experience very special. I highly recommend this for anyone looking to experience Reykjavík the local way, and to try the best Icelandic cuisine! Every spot we visited was amazing!

5.00A great food tour with our lovely guide Einar who was very friendly and great company and very knowledgeable. We ate some very tasty food but also learned about the Icelandic way of life and culture. A lovely evening and a highly recommended tour.

5.00Entertaining and informative tour hosted by Paul, a retired fisherman. Sampled various traditional Icelandic foods including lagoustine soup, lamb stew, smoked salmon and goose and chocolate covered licorice in downtown Reykjavík. Tour lasted about three hours and was very enjoyable.

5.00A fabulous evening with our lovely guide Einar on a food tour of Reykyavik. Great restaurants and food choices including traditional lamb soup, gravelax on rye bread, a hot dog from a stall and fish stew. Einar was very friendly and hospitable and shared a lot of information about Icelandic art and culture with suggestions about where to go and what to do in Reykyavik. It was a very enjoyable evening and Einar sent us some lovely photographs. Highly recommended.
