Ancient Kamiros
Our journey starts with Ancient Kamiros which was a city of ancient Rhodes. It's site is on the northwest coast of the island, 3 kilometres west of the modern village of Kalavarda. The ancient city was built on three levels. At the top of the hill was the Acropolis, with the temple complex of Athena and the stoa. The main settlement was on the middle terrace, consisting of a grid of parallel streets and residential blocks. On the lower terrace are found a Doric temple, probably to Apollo, the Fountain House, with the Agora in front of it and Peribolos of the Altars, which contained dedications to various deities. During the prehistoric period the area was inhabited by Mycenaean Greeks. The city itself was founded by the Dorians. (The entrance fee is 6 euros)
Kritinia Castle
The Castle of Kritinia is a Medieval Castle of 16th century, on a hill about 131 meters above the village of Kritinia. It offers a breathtaking view of Aegean sea, the island of Chalki & some other deserted island.

Always charming island with excellent sea. On the recommended tour grade just enough. The two towns (Rhodes and Lindos) almost impassable x a storm tourism and redundant sellers of junk that distort the beauty

Bus ride at 38C without air conditioning, change to bus, 6 hours later very aggressive driver, did not feel like it, were insulted when we were asked in which hotel he should drop us off. Booked the next day drive again, were simply not picked up, had waited 40 min!

Pre-communication was excellent prior to the trip date and we knew exactly where we would be picked up. The trip itinerary was full of and our guide, Helen, extremely knowledgeable. We were given the right amount of time at each stop. We felt we really got a sense of Rhodes history and saw many aspects of the island. We would highly recommend this trip as value for money.

Very good overall. Except Kalithea beach too crowded. Catch tourists. Good organization, though.

10/10 tour was 100% worth it. Tour guide was amazing, incredibly knowledgable and great sense of humour. So worth it if you’re not renting a car as we got to see many amazing sites which we wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. Would definitely recommend!! Make sure to bring water and comfy shoes.

Very interesting visit. You can almost talk about Knossos in miniature. The city had a strategic location for fishing. It is estimated that about 2,000 people have lived in the city. I spoke with one of the staff and the further excavation of the area. He told me there had been no excavations since 1926. And it makes sense somewhere, since Greece has quite a few historic sites, it is extremely expensive to excavate and how the funds should be distributed between the historic sites. Definitely also worth a visit.

Trip was good till lunch and wine tasting. After that it stopped in some places for 10 minutes and finished with Kallithea Springs. Last stop was too long and without opportunities to have coffee or drinks as it was promised by the tour guide. Ancient Kamiros and Kritinia Castle were great.
