Great trip with Jane! I didn’t realize we would learn so much history of Richmond and have VERY delicious food! Great tour!

My husband and I book food tours in almost every city we visit. It’s a great opportunity to get to know the area through the food. The positive; Jane is a very knowledgeable historian and went into a lot of detail on the area. I would consider this tour more of a history versus food tour. Overall, the food tour did not meet our expectations. There were 4 versus the 5 advertised stops. It appeared the tour operator did not book the restaurants and food in advance. As such, we were walking into restaurants while our guide ordered the food for sharing. Shared soup from a common bowl and a single slice of pizza were an awkward experience. We are accustomed to individual portions ready for us when we arrive at restaurants. The tour was hosted by Secret Food Tours and this particular tour was managed out of DC per our tour guide. They could use a little more guidance on how food tours can better be structured to accommodate those that are seeking a nice food tour. I expected more for the price point. The “3” score is a stretch based on this experience but Jane tried to make it a pleasant experience.
