  A great day had by all! Early 7.30am pick up from our hotel, Shangri La, shout out to our driver Preneel was who was very knowledgeable and safety conscious during the 2 hour drive to the river! Our guide Ben was even more amazing, chatting about local culture and his excellent river knowledge. He was so careful helping us in and out of the boat! We stopped at a local village for a walkthrough (only place up the river where a toilet is available) then back in the boats down to a spectacular waterfall (short walk to the falls maybe 200 meters includes some stairs but nothing too strenuous, there were some 70yr olds in the tour beside us who did it) Ben even climbed up and dived in from almost the top of the fall! We swam in the crystal clear water, then headed back down the river for a lunch break where we were served some traditional foods! From lunch we climbed into our tubes and floated slowly down the river! Only 3 sets of rapids of which we felt totally safe the whole way as Ben was attached to our group. We stopped in the middle of the river as a whole tour group and all the guides started singing traditional songs and their sounds were amazing, it was a very moving moment! A few more minutes back to where we started and then got changed for our bus trip back! Showers and toilets available here! Fantastic day had by all! Even though it was a long trip from Shangri La, it was totally worth it! Would definitely recommend!!

  Amazing experience with these guys. The nicest of people! From taking in the sites heading up river, the village & waterfall visit, lunch and the tubing the whole day was fantastic. Shout out to Solo, our guide who was fun and informative. Absolutely great day!

  We loved every minute of this experience. The pick up drop off service was prompt and professional. The crew and the guide for the tour were great and very informative. The lunch that was provided was Fijian cuisine and super tasty. The rapids were great, they were exciting but never felt dangerous.

  Very well organized and pick up was on time like clock work. Guide was funny and had lots of knowledge. Lunch was good some traditional foods. A bit of a hike to the waterfall [I'm a senior] but everyone got there. Beautiful scenery and waterfalls. 3 rapids progressively stronger but nothing you cant handle if you listen to the guides. Theh are very safety concious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

  This was the coolest excursion to do! Our guide Ben was incredible! Between the river cruise up, waterfall swimming and the tubing, you really experience all of the best in Suva! I would recommend this to anyone who visits Fiji as you really get to see how beautiful this country is and how amazing the people are!

  We took our kids and had the BEST time! They made it fun and exciting for the kids the whole day, every part of the tour was hreat from the boat, to the village visit, the waterfall, lunch, and the tubing. Absolutely epic day thank you!!

  Amazing tour, with so many wonderful local employees! There was so much seamlessly packed into the day. Even though it was a large group, it did not feel that large as you were assigned a small boat, driver, and guide for the day and there were lots of helpful employees everywhere you turned. The scenery was beautiful, very authentic Fijian day with wonderful people. Must do tour!

• Great river tubing adventure in Suva Fiji

  This was a shore excursion from our cruise ship, and from the moment the 6 of us stepped off the ship until he moment we returned we couldn't have been treated any better. The day was crazy rainy and we started with a little apprehension, but Peter our guide (on land and water) made us comfortable with what was in store. He was funny, well spoken and very knowledgeable. The ride up river was awesome but be sure to grab a provided poncho if rain is likely. The small, remote village we visited welcomed us to their way of life if only for a short time. We had a great riverside lunch and a memorable tube float that culminated with Peter and the other guides serenading is with some native songs.   I'd read good reviews about this activity and it more than lived up to it's promise. Pick up at the hotel was on time, check in at the starting point was pretty easy (although I was a bit worried to find that I needed covered shoulders as well as covered knees for the village part of the day and I hadn't accounted for that) and we were on the water really quickly headed up river. Our guide Patrick pointed out some cool things on the way up and we took a side trip to see a 'twin' waterfall which was very nice. Then to the village where another guide (Peter) gave a short presentation on life in a remote village and then gave a short tour so we could see the buildings and gardens there. Back to the boats for a short trip to a waterfall where people could swim. The steps leading to it are quite steep and wet but there is a rope to hold on to so I didn't feel unsafe (just mentioning it for those who are not steady on their feet) and the water was colder with a strong current so I didn't get in, but the kids loved it! One of the staff showed off by jumping in from up on the rocks which was fun to see. Then lunch which was really tasty with local Fijian specialties like wilted ferns and onto the tubes. I am not great in water so after a few tries at managing myself I asked Patrick if I could join him - he was holding my younger son's tube - so he just got me to hook my feet under my son's arms and he took us both down the river. As he said, he was our very own 'UberTuber' :-) Once I wasn't worrying about the current I could just sit back and marvel at the beautiful scenery - truly spectacular. During one of the calmer sections between rapids, the guides pulled the tubes together in the middle and they all started singing! It was truly magical, just lying there drifting, listening to those beautiful, soulful voices and watching the jungle go by. I was so filled with awe that I actually cried! So, in summary - you should DEFINITELY do this trip if you are in Fiji. A special thank you to Patrick for looking after us so well and making me feel safe so I could enjoy the whole experience. And to our boat captain Moses who my sons both said had 'legendary aura' :-)

  Joined with my Partner, we absolutely loved everything about that day! The beautiful landscape, the waterfalls, the divings but most importantly the lovely staff! They made our day extra special ❤️❤️
