  My family and I booked the Sloth & Monkey Animal Park, chocolate and rum cake factory experience with Roatan Breakaway Tours. Theola 1000% exceeded expectations. From the moment we met, she greeted us with kindness and excitement that she maintained through the entire trip. An excursion that we expected to last for 3 hours turned into 7 hours! And in the best way! Theola took us to all of the promised places and more. She was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. Answering all of our questions and making every requested stop with a smile on her face. She took us to an incredible local restaurant and we even ended up doing a snorkeling adventure at her suggestion. Our day was so fun and far beyond anything I was expecting. My stepfather is already talking about coming back to Roatan just to spend more time exploring with Theola. If you are thinking about booking this excursion, DO IT and request Theola if you can. You won’t regret it!

  A lovely venue housing sloths, monkeys, and a parrot.We were able to interact with the sloths even though we are no longer able to hold them. Breakaway tours was very punctual with our pick up. Our guide “ Mama Rose” was excellent , her vehicle was clean and she had many things to tell us about her island. We never felt rushed even at the chocolate factory. We would choose her all over again if we ever return to Roatan, we always felt safe.

  We greatly enjoyed all of our stops and mostly our guide, Mama Rose. She was the sweetest! She took us to all locations of the tour and answered any questions that we had. We enjoyed it all…the animals, rum and chocolate factories and even got to do a bit of shopping. Well worth the price of the tour.

  We enjoyed this tour! The chocolate was delicious and my boyfriend loved the rum cakes! We were able to see lots of monkeys as well as birds and a sloth and learn some history about the island.

• Enjoyable Tour in Roatan

  Our driver and guide, Selena, was extremely friendly and informative. She stayed with us from the moment we left the cruise port through the return about three hours later. We really enjoyed the sightseeing and learning about the culture in Roatan. The Sloth and Monkey stop was fun. We were able to pet their sloth and spent time with the monkeys.

  This tour was amazing. It's a small group(just two of usand a tour guide) exploring the island. We saw sloth, monkeys, visited chocolate and rum factories, bought a lot of souvenirs and gifts, and a grand finalle had a fantastic lunch of local cusine.

  Our guide was amazing and shared fun and interesting things on our tour but the stops were sub par. The animal sanctuary was run down and not what the description encouraged us to pay for.

  We booked a trip that was advertised as an “animal park,” although it wasn’t really a park in the traditional sense. It was more of a small, intimate experience with a few different stops — and while it wasn’t what we expected, it turned out to be a really enjoyable day. The highlight was going into an enclosure with small monkeys. They jumped all over us, which was great fun and made for some amazing memories. We also had the chance to stroke a sloth and have our photos taken with a parrot, which was a lovely experience. The man running the monkey and sloth encounter was excellent. He was very friendly, chatty, and informative, telling us all about the animals, and we never felt rushed at any point. After this, we visited a small chocolate stop where they explained how chocolate is made, showed us a cocoa bean, told us where the chocolate comes from, and then let us sample a variety of chocolates — with the option to buy some as well. Next door there was a craft shop, and our driver, Leon, kindly asked if we would like to stop and look around. We then went on to a rum cake stop, which had a beautiful view over the island. Leon was extremely considerate and allowed us as much time as we wanted at each stop. On the way back to the ship, he stopped at a scenic viewpoint so we could take photos and even got out to take pictures for us. He was very chatty, friendly, and knowledgeable, sharing lots of information about the island. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Leon, the tour would have been very disappointing — he truly made the whole day worthwhile.

  Great excursion. Lots of time to see and i traction with the animals. Great Rum cake and amazing chocolate. Our tour guide Bernie was amazing. He even treated us to a local lunch.
