This rock climbing tour involves two different levels depending on your experience. Beginner climbs range in difficulty of 5.5 to 5.8, and use a top-rope setup within 50 feet of the ground. With this technique, you will easily be able to receive instruction and can return to the ground at any time. Intermediate climbs go from 5.7 to 5.9 in level of difficulty. Here, you will use a top-belay setup or multi-pitch techniques. Such set-ups require you to know the belaying technique and general climbing knowledge.

The tour starts at our office at 9 am in the morning or at 2 pm, where you will be equipped with climbing shoes, special rock climbing helmets and harnesses. After a 15 minute car drive you will arrive at the entrance to the wall of Natural Lava Rock. Before you start climbing, you will be given technical tips by our guide and will be instructed in safety issues. IMPORTANT: Please be at the office of Imagine Ecuador one day before the tour, in order to measure the shoes and give you some instructions.

Great place to climb, lots Different routes and very good guidance. There were four of us and had two guides. I am not an experienced climber and was stimulated, without having to go beyond my limits. I have gained more confidence and have had a fantastic experience!

A beautiful rock face with many possibilities for routes. Robert gave a lot of confidence in climbing, even when it wasn’t going for a while. we had a lot of fun and pushed our limits. great morning! glad we did it in the morning, then the temperature wasn’t too hot.

Nice bit of climbing, just did some top rope after the guide (Fernando!) set it up, but it felt great to get back on some rock. Very knowledgeable and kind team, thank you so much!

We where climbing with a really experienced guide. So it was a great experience for us. They have a lot of diffrent routes in the volcanic rock.

Great experience on the wall of the Madre Roca in Baños, our guide Robert, warm and accessible, showed us different routes (5a, 6a, 6b+,6c) that overlooked the Pastaza River. We went from the store to the wall in a pickup truck. Great equipment.

Very good experience. Our good guide Robert introduced us to the rock mother "Ines María" explaining precisely each step to make pathways (5, 6a+,6b+,6c). Recommended!

We did two half days rock climbing and have to say that our guide, Fernando was BRILLIANT! So knowledgable made us feel very safe and was all round a great person to spend a couple of days with. Would also add it was really good value for money considering how much kit and travel was included. The negative however, is the office staff/experience. We arrived the day before as requested to fit our shoes however this didn’t happen we simply told them a size (to be clear with climbing shoes it’s really important the size is correct and can differ drastically from brand to brand). The office guy told us to arrive at 930 the next morning as they had another booking at 9am - no problem. However when we arrived at 930 he told us we were late and our guide had been waiting. From here we had to then try our shoes (that we expected to do the night before). Despite specifying shoe sizes on the office spreadsheet, one pair arrived 5 sizes too big and the other pair arrived not as a pair at all, but one 2 sizes too big and the other shoes 2.5 sizes too big. Of course the staff in the office then had to go out and find the correct shoes which they located in the end. However, by this point we were now one hour into our allotted time (due to this mess up and the owner telling the guide to arrive at a different time to us). As I say, when we got away it was amazing but we did miss out on time on the rock due to poor organisation/lack of care from the office staff. On our second day our guide took control and timings were much better! Cannot recommend Fernando enough (he is freelance and works for multiple agencies).
