Enter the world of Baroque Rome through the dramatic lens of one man—Caravaggio.
Designed to be enjoyed in any weather, this walking tour moves between open piazzas and cool, atmospheric churches, offering shade, shelter, and moments to sit along the way. Whether under the blazing Roman sun or escaping sudden rain, you’ll explore comfortably while diving deep into one of art history’s greatest mysteries.
A genius with a taste for danger, Caravaggio created some of the most powerful works in Western art before vanishing under mysterious circumstances.
This walking tour blends art, history, and true crime, following his footsteps through Rome’s iconic sites and hidden corners. As we admire his masterpieces and retrace his tumultuous life, we’ll slowly piece together a deadly puzzle that’s remained unsolved for over 400 years.

Piazza della Minerva
Piazza della Minerva, near the Pantheon, features Bernini's Elephant and Obelisk and the Gothic Basilica of Santa Maria sopra Minerva, built over an ancient temple to the goddess Minerva. This compact square beautifully blends Roman history with Baroque art.

Ivan was a great tour guide - funny, engaging, and knowledgeable. He gave me a better appreciation of Caravaggio - both the man and the painter.

This is the best walking tour I have ever taken in Rome. I have been to Rome many times and our guide, Ivan was great. He is funny and incredibly knowledgeable about Caravaggio. The stories he tells you are fascinating. He is great describing the paintings before you see them in the churches and it makes you look at them with new eyes! Ivan and this tour is excellent

Amazing guided tour with young art historian Simone who explained loads of interesting things in the most fascinating way. We were all thrilled (and a couple of us are art historians ourselves)!

This tour is a delight even if you are already familiar with Caravaggio. Simone is a wonderful and interesting guide with lots of great facts and insights to share. It is two hours but you are not walking the whole time. Lots of stops to see and learn about pictures and sites. We were surprised that the cost of the tour is so low but you are encouraged to tip at the end if you liked the tour. You will absolutely want to tip.
