  Michael was an excellent SAFE driver, and so very informative of Rome and its treasures. Fantastic knowledge of the shortcuts throughout the streets and traffic of Rome, which gave us the opportunity to see much more than what we would have hoped to see if we had chosen to take the cruise tour bus! We are so thankful to have had the privilege of seeing so much of Rome and its many treasures in just one day. Thank you Michael! Cheers! Devin and Tressa

  I can’t say enough good things about our excursion! Micheal was friendly, informative, and a fantastic driver in those small crowded streets of Rome. He got us as close to the landmarks as he possibly could with a wonderful attitude! When it was time for lunch he brought us to a great restaurant in the busy city where our table was waiting for us!! Our guide of the Colosseum, David, was unbelievable!! He is such a great teacher and you can tell he loves his job… his years of schooling showed in all he knows about the history of Rome. He also took extra care to help my disabled dad navigate the Colosseum, got us through lines quickly, and brought us to less crowded locations. I will highly recommend Rome Private Excursions to everyone! Thank you for a great experience.

  Our rating is 10 STARS! We had the most delightful day with our guide, Alessandro Dibilio, touring Rome! We wanted to see and experience many sights, and Alessandro designed a day that exceeded our expectations. His in-depth knowledge of the history behind every building and landmark brought this Italian city to life! We enjoyed an authentic lunch in a lovely local restaurant...with NO tour busses in sight! Delicious food, and wonderful companionship. He arranged for our timed tickets to the Pantheon so we avoided the long ticket lines. He escorted us through the most unique gelato experience…where we chose from 150 of Italy’s finest gelato flavors! And let's add another 10 STARS for Alessandro's driving skills! He engineered our way through many tourist-drenched roads, plazas, and boulevards with ability and ease, making this a most memorable day. Thank you to Alessandro!

  First this company has excellent communication throughout the process from first inquiry to pickup. Shopping on the internet for an international tour company can be daunting but they were professional at all turns. They made sure everything was taken care of before we got off the ship from our skip the line tickets to meeting point etc. Our driver Manny was fun, easy to talk to too and very knowledgeable about the area and history. He gave us a great spot to eat lunch, made sure we cool in the van and helped us in and out. The vehicle was top notch, clean and comfortable. We would not have had such a good experience without Manny guiding us. This company made the whole day easy and allowed us to see more than if we tried to do it on our own.

  Everything was wonderful. I’m so happy we booked with you. The driver was there on time and did a great job communicating. He made everything so easy. The Vatican guide was amazing. She relayed so much information and was very good at navigating through the crowd to make sure we saw the most important sites. I will definitely recommend you to my clients for future trips…and I’ll certainly be in touch when we are back to Italy again.

  Our tour yesterday was absolutely excellent! Michael and Alex were superb — A+ guides who were both knowledgeable and personable. We saw so many incredible sights throughout the day, and their commentary made each stop come alive with history and stories. The lunch spot they chose, Padi, was delicious and a perfect break in the day. The Vatican portion was also very well done — the guides there were outstanding. We will always use Rome Private Excursions for any of our travel needs while in Rome. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a seamless, informative, and truly enjoyable experience!

  carlo is the best guide/driver we have had so far. he made the impossible possible ! very kind and optimistic ! made us laugh ! and we learned about roma also ! the pick up from the cruise port was smooth and so was drop off. no issue with timing on getting back. it’s a busy but amazing day ! i wish i had booked more tours with him/ your company during our time in italy ! today we are in florence and it’s not the same … carlo did an amazing job and he deserves a raise ❤️ thank you for making our one day in rome the best !

  We had a great experience. Angelo (Big Angel) was amazing. He took us to all the sights we wanted to see. We saw all of Rome that we could in our day. The Vatican tour guide was excellent as well. Unfortunately, St. Peter’s closed an hour before we got there because of Jubilee, but both Maria and Angelo did their best to get us as close as we could get. The restaurant we went to for lunch was so good. I would highly recommend!

  We did A LOT of research before choosing a tour company for our one day in Rome, and we are so glad we went with Rome Private Excursions! From the start, the booking process was seamless. Luca made it incredibly easy and allowed us to fully customize our itinerary based on what we wanted to see. They were always quick to respond to our questions and special requests—such as ensuring we had an English-speaking driver. And let me tell you, they absolutely delivered! Sal, our driver, was amazing. He was waiting for us right as we disembarked from the ship and immediately made sure we were comfortable—adjusting the air conditioning, providing water, and making sure we were ready for the day. He also took the time to ask thoughtful questions to tailor the experience perfectly to us (e.g., quick lunch vs. sit-down, preferred return time, etc.). We wanted to see as much of Rome as possible in one day—and Sal made it happen! Our brains were full (in the best way) from all the incredible sights and historical facts/insights. Sal truly knows and loves Rome, and his passion is contagious. In the afternoon, we met Paula, our guide for the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. She was absolutely fantastic—so knowledgeable and engaging. She pointed out details we never would have noticed on our own and shared fascinating historical context that brought everything to life. After our Vatican tour, Sal was right there to pick us up and return us to the ship right on time. My husband and I have repeatedly said how perfect this day was—better than we could have ever imagined. In fact, we honestly can’t think of a single thing we’d change. If you’re considering a tour of Rome, I can confidently say you won’t go wrong with Rome Private Excursions, Sal as your Rome guide, and Paula for touring the Vatican. Highly recommended!

  Manny was excellent! No phone calls nor texting while he drove us (unlike our 2 other drivers from different transport services). He shared his love of his Roma with us - history, scenery, beauty. We went to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, the Vatican City (Sistine Chapel!), Appian Way. We saw the Pantheon, the “Wedding Cake”, and other historical sites. We highly recommend this customized tour of Rome and make sure to request Manny. So worth it!
