Soak up the history and culture of Rome, during this full-day shore excursion including Civitavecchia Port pickup and drop-off, a private English Speaking driver, and transportation by air-conditioned minivan. Customize the day based on your interests with possible stops at the Colosseum (FROM THE OUTSIDE ONLY, IF YOU WANT TO ENTER IT, TICKETS ARE NEEDED TO BE PREBOOKED SO LET US KNOW AT THE TIME OF THE BOOKING), Circus Maximus, Palatine Hill, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Victor Emmanuel Monument, St. Peter’s Square, and the Catacombs ancient burial site. You’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch before heading back to the port to board your cruise ship. Monument tickets can be purchased in advance with an upgrade after booking.

5.00We had a fantastic time visiting Rome on our Viking cruise, and we truly enjoyed the private tour through Rome Private Excursions. We had an all-day tour (about 8 hours) and saw the ancient bath house ruins, Trevi fountain, pantheon, colosseum, Vatican museum, Cistine chapel, and St. Peter's basilica. We were dropped off at the Colosseum and Vatican with skip-the-line tickets and were able to get inside in a matter of minutes. Our driver Manny did an excellent job getting us around town and making sure we were able to see as many sites as possible and was very accommodating. The Vatican guide (I think her name was Sylvia) also did a terrific job. Both spoke English very well and were very knowledgeable. We felt the price we paid and the value we got in return was exceptional, and we were all so glad that we did a private tour through Rome Private Excursions rather than going through Viking. Luca and the team were responsive and the customer service was excellent. We will be looking for more tours through them in our future cruises.

5.00This was an amazing tour! Angelo was a great driver and told us interesting information about each place we visited. We got to see some many things we never would have be able to see on our own. Best part is if you’re on a cruise they pick you up and drop you off right at your ship. Would definitely recommend!

5.00Michael was an excellent SAFE driver, and so very informative of Rome and its treasures. Fantastic knowledge of the shortcuts throughout the streets and traffic of Rome, which gave us the opportunity to see much more than what we would have hoped to see if we had chosen to take the cruise tour bus! We are so thankful to have had the privilege of seeing so much of Rome and its many treasures in just one day. Thank you Michael! Cheers! Devin and Tressa

5.00I can’t say enough good things about our excursion! Micheal was friendly, informative, and a fantastic driver in those small crowded streets of Rome. He got us as close to the landmarks as he possibly could with a wonderful attitude! When it was time for lunch he brought us to a great restaurant in the busy city where our table was waiting for us!! Our guide of the Colosseum, David, was unbelievable!! He is such a great teacher and you can tell he loves his job… his years of schooling showed in all he knows about the history of Rome. He also took extra care to help my disabled dad navigate the Colosseum, got us through lines quickly, and brought us to less crowded locations. I will highly recommend Rome Private Excursions to everyone! Thank you for a great experience.

5.00Our rating is 10 STARS! We had the most delightful day with our guide, Alessandro Dibilio, touring Rome! We wanted to see and experience many sights, and Alessandro designed a day that exceeded our expectations. His in-depth knowledge of the history behind every building and landmark brought this Italian city to life! We enjoyed an authentic lunch in a lovely local restaurant...with NO tour busses in sight! Delicious food, and wonderful companionship. He arranged for our timed tickets to the Pantheon so we avoided the long ticket lines. He escorted us through the most unique gelato experience…where we chose from 150 of Italy’s finest gelato flavors! And let's add another 10 STARS for Alessandro's driving skills! He engineered our way through many tourist-drenched roads, plazas, and boulevards with ability and ease, making this a most memorable day. Thank you to Alessandro!

5.00First this company has excellent communication throughout the process from first inquiry to pickup. Shopping on the internet for an international tour company can be daunting but they were professional at all turns. They made sure everything was taken care of before we got off the ship from our skip the line tickets to meeting point etc. Our driver Manny was fun, easy to talk to too and very knowledgeable about the area and history. He gave us a great spot to eat lunch, made sure we cool in the van and helped us in and out. The vehicle was top notch, clean and comfortable. We would not have had such a good experience without Manny guiding us. This company made the whole day easy and allowed us to see more than if we tried to do it on our own.
Wonderful way to visit Rome during a ship's shore excursion.

5.00Everything was wonderful. I’m so happy we booked with you. The driver was there on time and did a great job communicating. He made everything so easy. The Vatican guide was amazing. She relayed so much information and was very good at navigating through the crowd to make sure we saw the most important sites. I will definitely recommend you to my clients for future trips…and I’ll certainly be in touch when we are back to Italy again.

5.00Our tour yesterday was absolutely excellent! Michael and Alex were superb — A+ guides who were both knowledgeable and personable. We saw so many incredible sights throughout the day, and their commentary made each stop come alive with history and stories. The lunch spot they chose, Padi, was delicious and a perfect break in the day. The Vatican portion was also very well done — the guides there were outstanding. We will always use Rome Private Excursions for any of our travel needs while in Rome. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a seamless, informative, and truly enjoyable experience!

5.00carlo is the best guide/driver we have had so far. he made the impossible possible ! very kind and optimistic ! made us laugh ! and we learned about roma also ! the pick up from the cruise port was smooth and so was drop off. no issue with timing on getting back. it’s a busy but amazing day ! i wish i had booked more tours with him/ your company during our time in italy ! today we are in florence and it’s not the same … carlo did an amazing job and he deserves a raise ❤️ thank you for making our one day in rome the best !

5.00We had a great experience. Angelo (Big Angel) was amazing. He took us to all the sights we wanted to see. We saw all of Rome that we could in our day. The Vatican tour guide was excellent as well. Unfortunately, St. Peter’s closed an hour before we got there because of Jubilee, but both Maria and Angelo did their best to get us as close as we could get. The restaurant we went to for lunch was so good. I would highly recommend!
