This full-day Rome tour secures timed entry to two of the city's most difficult tickets to obtain independently: the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum. Both sell out weeks in advance, and booking logistics can be complex. Your expert English-speaking guide leads a small group of no more than 20 through the Vatican's gallery halls, into the Sistine Chapel, and across the Roman Forum before stepping inside the ancient amphitheater. Between these two landmarks, a guided walk takes in Piazza Navona, the Pantheon exterior, and the Trevi Fountain, with private transportation connecting the Vatican to the city center so there is no navigating public transit mid-day. This tour is ideal for first-time visitors to Rome who want to cover the city's essential sights in one well-paced day, with all logistics handled.

A valid government-issued ID is required for entry into the Colosseum and Vatican. The name on your tickets must match the name on your government-issued ID or you will be refused entry.
Depending on your Colosseum entry time, the order of the Colosseum and Roman Forum visits may be reversed.
On Wednesdays and during other Vatican events, this tour does not include a view of the outside of St. Peter's Basilica due to closures.
This tour includes free time for lunch at your own expense.
We will be subject to a security check at the entrance to all sites. Depending on the volume of visitors, we may have a short wait in the security line.
We regret that we are unable to accommodate guests with wheelchairs or any walking impairments that require special assistance on our group tours. We are also unable to accommodate strollers or baby carriages on our group tours.

Vatican Museums
Meet your guide just outside the Vatican Museums entrance on Viale Vaticano, where you'll check in and receive your timed entry tickets. Once inside, your guide leads you through the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of Tapestries, and Gallery of Maps, pointing out key works of Roman and Greek art along the way.
Sistine Chapel
Still inside the Vatican complex, you'll move into the Sistine Chapel for one of the most awe-inspiring moments of the day. Your guide prepares you in advance with stories about Michelangelo's ceiling frescoes, including The Creation of Adam and The Last Judgment, before you step inside to take it all in.

2.00We could not understand anything the guide was saying over her microphone during the entire tour due to wind noise, the guide holding her book against the microphone, heavy accent, and guide not speaking loudly enough We enjoyed seeing am the sites but learned almost nothing during the tour.

5.00There is so much to see in Rome and this tour covers so many highlights. We did not get to enter the Basilica as it was a Wednesday. Our tour guide, Paola, was very knowledgeable, fun, and led an amazing tour

5.00Our experience with the Ultimate Rome: Colosseum, Vatican Museums & Walking Tour was absolutely outstanding and worth every minute. From start to finish, the day was incredibly well organized, which made seeing so many iconic sites in one day feel seamless rather than rushed. Our guide, Maria, was exceptional—knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about Rome’s history. She brought each location to life with stories and context you simply wouldn’t get exploring on your own. Skipping the long lines at both the Colosseum and the Vatican Museums was a huge advantage and saved us hours. Walking through the Colosseum and Roman Forum while hearing the history unfold in real time was unforgettable. The Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel were just as impressive, and having Maria explain the significance behind what we were seeing made the experience so much more meaningful. The walking portions were well paced, with just enough breaks to recharge while still covering an incredible amount of ground. Despite it being a full day, it never felt overwhelming thanks to the thoughtful planning. If you’re visiting Rome and want to maximize your time while truly understanding what you’re seeing, this tour is a fantastic choice. 5.00This was a great experience. To see and learn all of the major sites in Rome in a day. Our tour guide, Paola was very knowledgeable and provided us with the historical information that we needed to bring the historical sites back to life. She gave us ample breaks and a lunch as we moved from place to place. I highly recommend this tour for anyone that wants to see the sites in one day. I would take the tour again.
