Join a small-group morning tour from Rotorua to explore two top geothermal parks: Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland and Waimangu Volcanic Valley.
Get picked up around 8-8:30 AM. See New Zealand's largest boiling mud pool, then enjoy a 1-hour guided walk through Wai-O-Tapu's colorful hot springs.
Witness the Lady Knox Geyser erupt at 10:15 AM.
Afterward, your guide will explain the 1886 Mt Tarawera eruption in Waimangu Volcanic Valley during another 1-hour guided walk through its active hot springs. Have lunch at Waimangu Cafe around 12 PM (30min) before being dropped off by 1pm.

Prepare for a captivating journey to Wai O Tapu Thermal Wonderland, one of the world's most surreal and active geothermal parks, located just 20 minutes from Rotorua CBD. 5.00Clive was an amazing guide, so knowledgeable, friendly, ,accommodated all the passengers. Was the perfect size rather than a big bus. It is truly a wonderful place to see, thermal wonders, bubbling mud, geysers beautiful views and plant life. Would recommend highly.

5.00Excellent tour exploring the geothermal wonders of Rotorua. Phil was a wonderful and warm guide, with a lot of personal connection and stories about the area. Would highly recommend, especially if you’re traveling without a vehicle - the pickups made it very easy to see some spectacular sites that would’ve been challenging otherwise.

5.00Great tour of some of the many geological wonders of the Rotorua region. Phil’s ancestry and historical knowledge of the area made for a great experience. However, I had understood that there was a maximum of 12 people but our group was 19 people.

5.00We did this tour on our 2nd day in Rotorua it was absolutely amazing. The views were stunning and we really enjoyed this tour. Thank you to Phil you were an amazing tour guide. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Rotorua so much natural beauty.

5.00It was a drizzling rainy day and we had SUCH an Incredible experience! Clint is such an amazing tour guide- full of local legends and cultural experience, and an expert on environmental impact! We saw the amazing volcano pools - the colors are unbelievable- then a geyser - then an incredible walk through the rainforest. Clint's fluency with Maori language and culture was enriching! Glad he chooses to spend his days sharing his passion with us tourists! The top highlight of our trip - and our photos will be on our Christmas card!

5.00VERY informative. Clint was knowledgeable about the area, history, culture, and geology. He was engaging all the way. There is a lot of walking, but beautiful.
