The Lively Saigon You will pass through one of the typical streets of the city with constructions dating back to the 1960’s. Along the street are many Vietnamese guitar makers’ stores. Some of them are really of high qualities. There are also many interesting eateries. Mass residential apartment buildings are on the back street. Walking around here gives you an idea about how lively Saigon is. Street Photography is highly recommended. The walk starts from Nguyen Thien Thuat street and ends at Ban Co market. 5.00My husband and I did a private Saigon Backstreet tour with Nguyen and his colleague (sorry, forgot his name) and really enjoyed it! They were both friendly and engaging and we learned a lot about their life in Saigon, Being on a scooter is not as scary as it sounds as they drive carefully and slow (I would guess average 20-25 mph) and know how to navigate through the crazy traffic! As stated, the tour stops at places the large tours don’t visit (with the exception of the temple in Chinatown), making the experience feel authentic. I think there is flexibility on the restaurant as the description said we would eat either com tam or beef noodle soup, but we actually stopped at a crab noodle soup place, which was excellent! The only ‘misleading’ part was that we made an additional food stop for banh xeo, which I was not expecting! It was a great way to get a good overview of the city and I highly recommend the tour!
This tour (and Hao) is the best! The best thing I did in Saigon and my favorite tour after 3 weeks in Vietnam!

5.00My tour with Hao was my favorite tour that I have done in my 3 week trip across Vietnam. Many of my tours have been with a group, but this tour was one-on-one so I was able to get to ask more questions and get to have a more personalized experience. Hao is very friendly and I can tell that he really enjoys giving tours and showing his city/country. He was easy to understand and a great storyteller. The food he got me for lunch was my favorite noodle dish I’ve had in Saigon and he also got me a juice and coffee which were delicious. Doing the tour on the scooter was a game changer, especially with how hot it is in Saigon. It was nice not to have to walk everywhere and also to be more agile than in a mini van. Hao also does a good tour that I wish I had more time to do! 10/10 would recommend this tour!

5.00We had an amazing morning with our guides Linh and Thao. The girls made us feel very comfortable on the back of the bikes. Their knowledge and English is 10 out if 10. We enjoyed everywhere they took us, the good food, sugar cane juice and coffee stop were all great. I cannot recommend these girls highly enough

5.00Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh we just thought this was any other major city but we were pleasantly surprised. Hao and Thong biked us around and made the city vibrant explaining culture, history and food. They were so helpful recommending local things to do after the trip and we highly recommend.

5.00Hao was awesome! Exceptionally courteous and super knowledgeable about the city overall. Great conversations with him, and definitely knows how to navigate traffic on his scooter! I felt completely safe riding with him, and I usually ride my own motorcycle. Plus, he gave great recommendations for later in the day!

It was fun zipping around on a scooter amongst the traffic, going to see the sites (a weapons bunker, the flower market and original apartment buildings, to name some of the spots) and great being able to stop at local spots for food. We tasted noodles, had sugar cane juice and of course stopped for coffee. Gia Linh was a great guide. She was friendly, knowledgeable and able to adapt the tour based on my questions and requests - even helping me find a place to buy coffee beans. It was a great way to see the city.

5.00Super cool and fun tour thanks to the team of Hao, Thong (Steve), and Linh for their knowledgeable and helpful insights on the daily lives of HCMC/Saigon residents. Maneuvering through the streets on their scooters with us in tow, they shared the impact of historical events on the city’s culture and what it means to the future of these communities (Buddhists, North and South Vietnamese). They paired these moments with stops at food and drinks spots that were refreshing breaks from the frenzied happenings of the city (trust them on Hủ tiếu, egg coffee, and literally anything else they say). I didn’t know what to expect from the itinerary and the couple hours of the tour went by so fast because it was such a delightful experience. What a thoughtful and kind team. Thanks for the opportunity to learn and experience so much.

5.00I had a fantastic tour with Hao! He was very friendly and had great knowledge about the history of HCMC and the places we went to see. The local food stalls we went to were amazing and he even gave me some wonderful tips for restaurants to explore on my own! I absolutely recommend this tour as it gives you an amazing way to experience HCMC!
